1. TT - SOTG, and hes like NE's junior jesus

2. Tristan - yea.....he'd be first if he won nats this year with crappy empostar.

3. Yano - between him and curran, through practice ive been outplayed by yano 3 times and hill only once.

Yeah, Thomas is an awesome player with great SOTG. Henry too (the Junior Nat Champ)

I think the fact that both of Tristan's 'big wins' this year were with decks that WERE NOT GG in a format where 9/10 juniors were using GG is something special (2nd at nats with Empostar, 1st at worlds with toxicroak/scizor).

Its not to say Tristan couldn't use GG if he didnt want to. He went undefeated with GG to win CO states

To my knowledge no players other than Curran and Jeremy in the history of Pokemon have won both US Nationals, and the World Chapionships (indisputably the hardest tournaments) in the same year. Tristan came close this year, but unfortunately 2nd is not 1st.

I don't see why winning in the same year(Curran,Jeremy) is more impressive then winning in 2 serparate years(Tristan).
in fact, to me, It's More impressive winning in serparate years, cuz that shows the versitility a player has, adapting to the new formats and STILL winning...

plus imo.. 1st at nats, then 2nd at nats/1st at worlds, in the following year(a 10-under winning with a rogue?!), is more impressive then 1st at Nats+Worlds in the same year.

i also think Jun Hasabe definitely needs to be in here.. he's way too good for his age...

Henry L. is def the best Junior player ever. He won nats this year, most people don't know him but he's my neighbor and I taught him how to play (why hes sooo good) and he's better than at least 80% of masters.

Didn't bother to read all 3 pages I just know Henry > every other junior!

He won a nats., that's it. And he has no SOTG, and isn't humble. He went around in open play thursday, askin people how they did at nats.. Then he'd just rub it and say, well I WON! And he's only showed really at nats....

Lets stay off the attacks folks.

Attacking players is for Masters, not for Juniors!!!

Henry would get talked about in the 2nd group, but without a Worlds trophy, first group is HARD to break into!

hmm.... Henry sounds pretty good..(i havent actually seen him play tho.. 'cept at nats)
i dunno if i'd call him the best.
from what I've witnessed, Tristan and Jun Hasabe prolly had the best playing skills.
the way I saw Tristan play in Top 4 on, he did moves that a lot of masters wouldn't've seen.
and Jun Hasabe (in the finals of worlds 07) knew exactly which eeveeLutions to play at the right time to outmaneurver the Scizor ex deck. really impressive...especially from an uber small 7 year old

Funny.. but he only played jolteon and vaporeon LOL
so even if he randomly chose one he would have 50/50 chance of choosing the right one

We Need a Play off between Tristan and Curran. Have them do it like a championship fight best out of 5 games.

One nats will definitely not make this group. Top 3 at 3 straight Nats in the US will not make this group (including one title).

I think the discussion has been great, and has definitely showcased some of the elite Juniors of history.

OK, let's stop worrying about who was the BEST, and just agree we have 3 or so first ballot hall-of-famers and a lot of players who would be edging for the second ballot.

I will always vote for Curran, in that he helped train my son to become National Champ the year after he won. It was an elite SOTG moment.

Quoted for truth.

I'll develop a format for the juniors to settle this dispute. Hopefully by giving them a unique format, they won't be able to get as much help from Masters and can work more on their own to see who is better.

My vote to Tristan.
It's too strong.
He won Worlds with a nice rogue deck and destroyed all his opponent.

'cept me. i beat him 3rd round with g/g, went 1/1 and pulled it off

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

he's cool, but rude, never plays for run, acts as if he is the only person alive, and not top 32ing worlds this year is no big deal

Why do we suddenly care about who the best junoir ever is? After all, its usually a master that builds their deck and teaches them how to play. :p
