I think Gust will just make life kind of interesting. I'm going to get in the boat of people saying it won't come out until August to offset certain decks abusing it. I remember during the Base Set era Gust could also be used to buy set up time by bringing up something with an unwanted retreat cost and letting it sit for a bit. Assuming the rotation and the filler set no reprinting Warp Point or Warp Energy you're left with Switch, Fighting Tag and attacks/powers that switch you from the active position. Not sure if Switch will just become a normal play(more common?) or people will have to avoid high retreat cost guys to avoid being stuck with a random staller or what not.

How I get it out? Play two Pokabu and a Reshiram, who has 130 HP and thus won't be OHKO'd by anything you will pull come T2 (unless you run water). If you Gust either Pokabu, fine with me, I'll just candy the other one into Emboar, spam energy on Reshiram and voila - hammer time.
GoW is going to be annoying. But we have Collector, Communication, various balls, we can fill our bench up with duplicates either. Don't forget, if you argue that GoW's victim has no drawpower - NEITHER DOES THE GoW USER. Not many a deck seems to have any form of serious drawpower next format except Fire decks (Ninetales) and stuff experimenting with the likes of Dodrio, Noctowl and Staraptor (This assuming RR-On). Who is to ensure you will constantly draw into your Gusts?
I am looking forward to the format change. The current format is a dump, but the next one, oh I'm looking forward to it whether it will be RR-On or HGSS-On (I'm hoping the former).

I think positivly when I see a reprint of holon transceifer, Ill think positivly when I hear GoW was a mistake/bad joke.
With everything we got in HGSS-on I was hoping for this game to become better again, and it got better, less power creep etc, and we got the new rules which I still think are awesome.
And then, when youre looking forward to playing a new game they release GoW...
If you want to play trainer lock you either have to play candies in your trainer lock or chanegs are your vileplum will never see the light of day. And then we have jumpluff on steroids running around with GoW support. You can build one reshiram, then Itll die and then what?
Seriously, no point arguing matchups at this point but the thought of a stage 1 who can ohko nearly everything for a dce while mostr stage 2s need 3 energies to attack while the jumpluff-clone has GoW support and rare candy got nerved which gives you another turn of being able to pick off the basic...
Its just depressing when you think they finally learned their leason with power creep and thinks that should not happen, when the game finally stops being completly crazy and thinks seem to finally settle they print this?! This is almost to the point of trolling, did they hire tite kubo or what?!
Id say something positive if we wouldve gotten this set -GoW, there are some interesting cards in it, nothing too good but plently of nice stuff.. But GoW? my only hope is that without uxie the game will become soo slow that you cant draw into it reliabely :/

It shouldn't be the end of the world. Lets pretend the format goes to Hgss on. How will opposing player be able to bring up benched vileplumes? Use Muk from UD? (lol its a possibility I guess).
Remember luxray GL, roserade Gl, promoGigas, and blaziken FB (most common, non trainer, ways to bring up benched pokes) will be rotated out by then.

That's what I'm hoping. The people who make the cards would realise how good GoW is after Luxray GL Lv X, so they wouldn't have printed it without good reason I think..

Diversity isn't gonna be much of anything when you try to set up like anything and get gusted. The only viable non-Stage 2 deck is going to be anything with trainer lock. They already reprinted itemfinder so using gust for 6 prizes isn't hard. I may not like this, but I might as well go with it.
That being said, I know what I'm playing at nationals.

B-answer: Run high bebes,communication count. Use spiritomb if the rotation is RR-on.
C-answer: Increase your energy count to around 14 or more.
Side note: increasing the amount of shuffle draw is an easy way to to draw into gow,energy, pokemon, ect. we also will have aragi which is really good form of dump draw. i don't see many issues getting what you need if you run multiple copies.
