Is luxray even played as a tech in Gyarados anymore? I don't see Luxray lvx played in lists anymore. About a half year ago luxray was the tech in Gyarados Do you think it still worth running as a tech?

I honestly don't know if it's used as a tech anymore.

However, I think it is brilliant in there. I'm no pro Gyrados player (don't have the cards and don't like it much) but it seems like a great idea to Bright Look up some random Poke they have on their bench and TR it for some easy KO's.

Yeah, when you want to heal Gyarados you play Luxray GL on the bench, Warp Energy Dos to the bench, Seeker him up and then play him down again (assuming you have BTS up). Then you play down Luxray Lv.X and bring some pesky bench sitter up to the active spot and free retreat out to Dos so you can kill it.

You probably don't need Luxray as much anymore. I did see people using Dialga G to play under trainer lock though. I'm sure its still solid if you make space for it.

Gyarados lost felicity's Drawing's which let it rip through their deck and get luxray easily. Now we have to rely on Uxie and Seeker for draw. So it's just more consistent not to run it.

I play it and it can be extremely helpful, especially in mirror to get a prize instead of swapping tail revenges and healing.:thumb:

I think if you have luxray in your build you should always have crobat, 2 cyrus' conspiracy and an sp radar. Also, this lets you have a better time against judge as if you conspiracy off sableye and get collector, them judging you will just make you shuffle in the collector instead of using it up AND losing the magikarps anyway. plus it lets you run electric energy for the luxray and entei-raikou if you're super techy like me

Also, Trainers like Junk Arm (and I've even seen Pokedrawer +s) seem to make a Gyarados deck more consistent than running Luxray.
