hey vaporeon could we have like custom titles for beeing a gym leader? IE: steel leader, ice leader, ETC...and if we get a gym, do we HAVE to use monotype? could we use 4 from the type we are and 2 exceptions, to prevent counter teaming?
 
^ I believe that is the idea. As a gym leader you choose from the start how you want your gym set up:
1. lvl 50 OR lvl 100
2. Single OR double
3. How many pokemon will be used (3, 4, 5 ,OR 6).

Up to 1/3 of your team may be of a type that is different from your gym. So if you are the water GL you may have:
Dewgong, Gyarados, Blastoise, and Gastrodon (4 water types)
and Arcanine, Arbok for your 2 non-water types.
(This is just an example, obviously)

If you choose for battles to be 3v3 for your gym then 1 of your 3 may be of a different type:'
for example: blastoise, walrein
And Infernape being your 1 non-water type.

That's up to the mods and admins. It would be cool to have them though.

Custom titles are going to be a VERY rare occurrence. Until this year, NOBODY had any sort of custom title other than mod and admin titles.

We did custom titles for the 10th anniversary of Pokegym, and i do not see any other custom titles coming anytime in the near future.

on a side note- us testers will be using the voting thread for communication.
If Tyrany does not reply by the 29th, I will be needing another tester. Any others who are interested in being a tester needs to post in here as a possable tester applicant.

Posting that the "tester" team is me, Pyro and Tyrany. We will be using this thread to post our findings and results for the GL apps. I will have the testing method ready for the 1st. I will send dup. pm's to Pyro and Tyrany, and also to vaporeon. I will be needing any last ideas from every one on the battle tests ( rulings). I am sure that I have a method that will work, and I need to have any last minute ideas bfore the 30th.
TESTER APPS. no longer needed.
I will also work out the rating scale details, and the main points of requirements expected from the GL apps.
So for now, get in your GL apps-
When we have an agreed testing method, it will be posted in this thread for all the GL apps. to prepare for this testing.
Now, after the GL deadline, and testing begins, we still need to advertise this. And the rulings for the GL/participants I believe still needs to be figured out, or did I miss that? Or are the GL's going to post in here their rules when testing is done?

1. Battle Tower rules
a. no duplicate pokemon
b. no duplicate items
c. no pkmn not allowed in the battle tower (like mew, ho-oh, palkia, etc)
2. No wobbuffet/wynaut and soul dew
3. GL's pick the format (single/double, 50/100, amount of pkmn to bring)

the testing will be similer to that set of rulings........ but nothing solid for the testing yet- working on a system for now.

I also thought that the GLs edited in a few of their own rules. Nothing stupid, but adding hax item clause, evasion clause, sleep clause, stuff like that.
 
Well..... I've wanted to start getting a little more involved in the forums here. I think being a Gym Leader would be a nice way to get that started. I'm not sure what gym I would want to lead, but since we aren't picking gym types yet I guess that can wait. For now, I'll just say "Sign me up for a tryout spot."

I certainly don't have any problem meeting any and all of those requirements.

So far 11 GL requests- if Imawario is listed, that will make 12. It may be a good Iidea to establish the number of GL,s and have some as back up GL's. Remember though, all the GL apps. will be tested, and so will anyone who would like to be a possable back-up GL.
2 more days for sign ups- so get the apps. in......
 
I wanna be the Posion Gym Leader Im Muk Man!
Plus i was the Posion Gym leader last time we tried this... i also liked the rules that were set up last time, where you could use 2 pokemon that were'nt the gyms type as long as the knew an attack from the gym...EX blissey with toxic

Vaporeon: was thinking on an issue, for tester availability- have not said anything to pyro or tyranny yet- but I am thinking that I may recruite one more tester. This will help with tester availability via wi-fi. If I am not available during certain times, and same with pyro and tyranny, a fourth could be available- and if a GL app. battles three of us, not all four- that would still count as being tested. What do you think?
Also, if you miss this posting, I will pm you later tonite or tomorrow.........

Ok since my name is listed as an aplicant for gl status I just want to say, I can train a team to match any theme. I don't like the idea of somebody being able to wipe out my whole team with a single type trumping pokemon though. Let me know when testing begins. Long live pokemon
 
OK- testers need to post thier time zones in this thread, please. A few more pm's to the testers, maybe a fourth , and I will be using this thread to communicate with throughout the testing process. I am waiting on a few things, and I will be posting the GL apps requirments in here. For now, I will post my time zone. Posting the time zones in here will let every one know the testers time frame of availabilty against thier own schedules becuase of the time differences.

West coast-USA- PST zone.
