Finally, Unown P has arrived. You have waited all year for Phione, I have
been waiting on Mr. P. Let's do it T2 style, with the obvious exception of
UP. Sableye CG too. Pretend I didn't say Sableye if it bothers you, I can't
go without him. The dark rascal stops almost all starters, even Pachy half the
time. Helps prevent the dead draw, I'm gonna miss him. Put one on Sableye,
disabling Psychic Cut for laughs, hopefully it doesn't go that far. If Gardy
Bring Down shows up, you're toast. If Voltorb starts, give your opponent a
booster pack, he deserves it.
4 Magikarp
4 Gyarados
2 Unown P
2 Sableye CG
12 Pokemon
4 Bebe
4 Celio
3 Prof Birch
3 Prof Oak
4 Quick Ball
2 Master Ball
4 Plus Power
2 Warp Point
2 Buffer Piece
2 Crystal Beach
2 Windstorm
2 Rare Candy
34 Trainer
4 Call Energy
4 Holon WP
3 Water
3 Psychic
14 Energy
Deck is not tested. I played similar at Battle Roads, but this list has only
been played in my mind. Tweaks are welcome, but 2-2 Claydol is explicitly
not allowed. No setup for either player! If you are still playing the round
after 10 minutes, you must forfeit.
Strategy:
Who cares what you start with, as long as you have a Call. Grab a Karp or a P,
whichever you don't already have. Started with Sableye? Cool. Shut down Phione,
Stantler, or whatever kind of setup junk your opponent is playing.
It's turn two, you have a Bebe or Celio right? You're almost home. Evolve to
Gyarados, P one on him and start Flailing for 40 this turn, 50+ next.
It's turn three, warp back their starter and wail on whatever junk their
trying to setup. Well what about warp point? Drop the two Buffer for two Warp?
I also don't really like Crystal Beach here, it reeks of setup, what else instead
of the Beach? I'll have to test to see if Candy works.
It's turn four, if the game isn't solidly in your hands, scoop and shake
your opponent's hand, they are the luckiest clown in the room. Take the next
20 minutes to figure out what you did wrong...
