duu, wha? I haven't actually read the books. Nor do I intend to. I'm just going to take advantage of any sort of free food that I possibly can. Maybe pick up a copy for my sister. Who knows?
 
For what its worth, guys, that's the book out now in many English-speaking territories. I was up at the midnight launch at Blackwells in Edinburgh and it was packed. Nowhere near as bad as Waterstones in London, but still fairly intense. Picked up 4 copies for myself and a couple of friends going away on holiday later on this morning and can't get it in airports for some odd reason. Maybe they want to read them in the car or something, idk. Suffice to say, looks brill.

Err, I finished it this morning.

















The book, in general, was good, though it got very repetitive with the near-death conflicts the trio got themselves into. The ending was very weak as well and I wish JK would have expanded the epilogue some.
 
Just pulled an all-nighter reading the book.

All I'm going to say is, I can't wait for the movie to come out. Too bad it won't come out for another 5 years.

And the spoilers were wrong on who dies and who doesn't.

I agree on this point - the epilogue really didn't explain a thing. Perhaps there will be a "Where are they now?" type book coming in the future.

I am at Chapter 34 and its looking great.

nice to hear Tonks boy born with metamorphimus-whatever ability.

the main reason why snape and dumby trust each other was mainly... Lily Evans.

heh.
 
I just got the book 1 hour ago.....my store had 580 left after selling over 1000+....I am on Chapter 6 right now and so far I love this Book....So far I am not surprized on who dies.........
 
i HAVE finished the book and its all good. The only death seems to have gone too far would be Fred Weasley...but meh, at least most of my favourite young characters lives on. So yeh.

you totally welcome...I knew the true spoiler but I wanted to see peoples reaction.....I am still reading it though....I am a VERY fast reader but, I am taking my time on this book to get everything out of it....and also I think JK has made a few mistakes in the book already....pretty much contradicting herself on a few subjects...but I may be wrong.
 
That was a decent read. Finished it at 1pm yesterday. 4.5 hours.

Not the greatest HP by a long shot though. The epilogue was awful.

Snape didn't get enough time either, and some of the deaths were annoying, like Remus and Tonks - they only died to highlight Harry's plight.

I loved the argument between Remus and Harry though.

All in all, I'm not that happy with it - it concentrated too much on the trio.

Glad Harry didn't die - that would have been silly. Nice to send him to limbo, though a little cliché.

Meh. I'll let JKR off. I love her. :D
 
Read the wikipedia summary. Pretty interesting. The spoilers that I saw turned out to be right... but luckily they didn't give away anything really important.

Pokemom, how the **** did u finish the book, in 5.5 hours?

This book=300 in writing ^_^

I thought the epilouge was terrible though. It said he had 5 kinds, but I only remember like, 3 of them being named.
