Has Anyone Else Been Having Trouble With There Pokemon League Judges?

I've read quite a few stories about troubles players have had at major tournaments, but what I'm wondering is if anyone is having major problems at there leagues. Me and all the other players at the only current Pokemon League in Nevada have been getting damaged promos, and been hearing lies from our judge about numerous things. Have your judges been scratching the league promos by shuffling them or denting them when he tosses the card at you instead of handing it to you. Has anybody else been told that weekly Pokemon leagues where sanctioned tournaments and for rating points or that there are promos and then half way through the league say oh I forgot to tell you the store never recieved its league kit. Also does anyone know if the judges are supposed to be getting promos from the league kit to since our judge has apparently been taking the extras. If anyone else is having problems with there league organizers you may want to contact Pokemon USA and try to get a petition started to have him or her replaced like I am currently doing. I hope everyone is having better luck with there leages then I am.

My league organizer has literally banned all base set trainers when everyone told him that we didnt want them gone... I dont know what we should do about this...

Wow I can't beleive this. Our league leader/TO is fine. Are the promos constantly damaged? The mail could have damaged them or how he was opening the box with the promos in it. Who knows hope it gets resolved.

We know our judge is the one damaging them since we see him taking them out of the bag and shuffling them around or he'll throw them at the players instead of handing them to them and they'll hit something on the way to them.

People like that give all league leaders a bad name.

I think that keeping maybe one or two of the extra promos is okay as long as you make sure everybody gets the appointed amount of promos, or a little more than the appointed amount (since the league leader can't play for them), but keeping all of the extra promos is flat out wrong.

If the LL is starting to abuse everything League-oriented for his own gain, take it to the store owner (and if it is the store owner, threaten to take your bussiness elsewhere).

I do run a league, and I've never had any complaints about my rulings or how I hand out prizes, but if the local players had a problem with how I was doing things, I would hope that they would inform either myself or the store owner of the problem ASAP.

Considering that you have already brought that up to the LL, I would definitely condone going to the store owner (stores don't like losing bussiness due to somebody's misconduct).

Being someone who has run a league (and still looking for a new location and will do nearly anything possible for Organized Play), you need to keep in mind a few things. If there is a problem with the league leader, you should confront them and/or the store owner. If you feel your promo has suffered more than normal wear and tare, show him/her, and ask for a replacement. Keep in mind there could be a manufacture defect, I've had a messed up pack before (since they where shipped in zip-lock bags that season...).

Late league kits? I hate to tell you this, but it is true. We have gone at least three or more seasons when the kit for that season ended up coming half way though it. Did that stop the players from getting their promos? No. I kept track of league scores as normal, Then when the league supplies came in, I awarded the players what they rightfully earned. But late kits do happen from time to time, and if that, its nothing the league leader can do... they submitted the results to PUI, they placed the kit order, its up to PUI to mail the kits out on time. I have had some boxes even post marked on the very last day of the previous month to the current season.

Despite the problems, remember that the league leaders are volunteers... they arn't getting paid for their work. While we are fair (or most of us...), if there are problems, you need to consult them direct or the store owners...

Now that you mention it he did nothing to get us the promos that we were owed for all those weeks of league play and the big thing was that a few times before people signed up he stated that we had the new promos and then at the end he would say i'm sorry the store just told me they did not recieve there kit. Instead of telling us he would lie like he did about the leagues being for ratings and hoped that he was right.

If there are problems with your league/league leader, you first need to talk to the store owner and then contact POP if necessary. Posting here may get you sympathetic replies, but will not result in any official action; this is the type of thing that you need to contact POP directly about.

LL retaliation to wrongful posting

This is a reply to Dragonstar and his "thinking". I am the LL he is talking about, and I really think that if he had a huge problem with the way that I do run things that he should take it up with me face to face, and instead of going behind my back to the PokeGym. I get complaints from this user every week and it is always the same, (running rounds too long, no new promos, etc...) I wish he would just tell me face to face. I do know who you are Dragonstar, and we will talk about this at league on Sunday. Also in regards to my keeping of "all" the extra promos, we get 1 kit per week, and we average approx. 15 players per week, so 16 cards and badges, 15 for them, 1 for me, and the 8 winner cards to to our top 8 players, which means I dont get any, and believe me, I want 1 too. Thank you

What do you have amnessia or something, if me or any of the other league members have a problem with the way you are running the event we do take it up with you face to face and nothing seems to get fixed. You told me 2 weeks ago when I asked you at the begining of the second round of the tournament whether it would be top 4 or 8, you told me you would decide at the end of the round, I had to argue with you just to get an answer to that question at that time for someting that should have been announced before the begining of the first round. You also told us there would be league on the 4th of July when you didn't even check with the store to make sure they were open (and don't say it was the stores fault). Also your the one that's been telling us that the league has been for rating all this time and you know a few of us came there every week just because you said it was for points you know who i'm refering to (cough, cough). On numerous occasions we have got damaged promos because you toss them or shuffle them like you did to those Origins Torchics. And what is this "we will talk about this at league on Sunday" is that a threat or something. None of us know why you were running the leagues as tournaments and costing a lot of people extra money for no reason since it is practically the same people in the top 4 every week. You wasted so much of our time and money, for what promos we could have got from an hour or two of league play instead of 4 to 5 hour tournaments that only last so long because of your goffing of on your computer between rounds. Your poker, Nintendo Roms, and your stupid japanese soundtracks for Pokemon that we have told you to turn of numerous times yet it always ends up on again anyway. My rating and a few of our other league members would have been high enough to go to worlds if they actually counted for points. You want me to tell you to your face then you'll just have to wait till Sunday.

Okay, since this has become a 'he said/he said' issue which only seems to apply to the players at this particular league, I'm going to lock this. The 'gym isn't the place to get these types of issues settled; as I've said before, take care of this in person, via AIM, email or PM.
