Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Have you cried/made someone cry after losing a Pokemon battle in a tournament?

i beat some japanse kid in the worlds vgc 2009 which made him like 5th or 6th and he saw the standings and not only was he cryin i think he was cussin me out because if i got no losses he would have made it

Lol Chompy, so you haven't cried yet?

I've never cried, but I did make someone else cry in states of 08 or 09 i can't remember, but I think 09. It was my first tournament and he'd been playing for a while, I just got my dusknoir X out as a stadium and sniped everything he tried to get, and it was over in a few turns. He walked away sobbing. Made me feel bad :nonono:

Never personaly cried, my son made a little girl cry by beating her at our first tourney ever, he sat there with a bewildered look on his face, was priceless, but I told him not to worry about it, sometimes it happens, only thing you can do is move on.

Such a long-lived thread!

I've made other players cry before, and I really have no mercy about it. I understand that a lot goes into these things, and it does hurt when things go wrong, especially in top cut when your hopes are high. But after having been aggravated with myself and with tournaments and having to go home to my girlfriend's place... well, she's not nearly as competitive as I am, and so she didn't really take very well to me being pissed off about it, and I've learned from it: nothing good comes from being aggravated with a loss. If you lose, learn and move on.

that said, most of the opponents I decimated/made cry were scrubs. In BRs this year, second round, Sableye ripped through some young master's new Dialga/random stuff deck. He was all excited and into it and really didn't have any idea just what he was getting into, I'm sure; he was sullen and quiet afterwards, even after my vague "you're a stranger but I kinda feel bad for you anyway" attempt to offer condolences, and his day must have been very long and aggravating until he made it to the bottom with other 'fun'-based players - but, I played what I played, and I went to that BR to do well (which I did not, by the way -_-).

If you face me in top cut, well... when I have the opportunity, I will bury you, and I expect you to play the same way towards me. Whoever loses will feel a sharp sting, and that's what you risk by going into these things. If it's any consolation to my future opponents, I promise a handshake and congratulations to all of my top cut opponents, no matter what the outcome of our match, ok?

Other than that you're on your own.

Ehh, I spend a lot of time on pokemon, but if I lose a game, even under the most ridiculous measures, as long as my opponent wasn't a jerk, I'm fine with it.
Although I have been really frustrated with one single game.

It's nationals. I'm playing Gengar C with some strange techs. After starting 4-0 then being donked twice, and getting a terrible hand in the next round (I had to use mimic 6 times, including twice in the middle of the game. I have no idea how the chatot survived that long) I know I have to win the next game to top cut. I have good resistence and an extremely consistent list. I sit down, and my opponent brags to me about how he won a states. Maybe to intimidate me? Well I just beat a regional champion and a state champion, so I guess this shouldn't be too hard. He flip shaymin UL active and hoppip benched. So I have a favorable matchup but a mehh start. I flip over 2 baltoys. He goes first and does nothing. I topdeck rare candy which I use to candy into claydol, use rosies for a gastly and psychic, cosmic, I get a bts and lux ball, luxball for the second claydol, plat warp point, cosmic power for communication, candy, dragonite fb. Get a gengar out and kill the hoppip for my first prize. Amazing. Good matchup, and a terrific start. He does some stuff, gets a jumpluff out, hits me for some damage. I snipe his shaymin. Fainting spell... heads! 3-5 my lead, and I'm set up to win. I haven't played any cards this turn, and the supporter as the last cardin my discard pile proves it. I bring up garchomp c which has a dce and energy gain on it, level up, cosmic power my 2 card hand for a 6 card one. He waits for me to finish drawing my cads, then his hand immediatly shoots up. He tells the judge that I used cosmic power 3 times with only 2 dols in play. Me, being stupid enough to remember that I can ask for head judge, try and argue, but the judge rules in my opponent's favor and he gets 2 prizes for a penalty. Then he takes my 6 card hand and bottoms it. So I have a 0 card hand and it's 3-3... I snipe his dol to make it 2-3. I get poketurn from my prizes (I remember this because it's really crucial to the game.) He night maintences his hoppip, jumpluff, energy back then knocks out my chomp, I send up a bat use comic twice, bebe's for a gengar (He accuses me of putting two cards back with bebe's, but since this kid's not even letting me use cosmic power, how would that help me?) I poltergeist his jumpluff, and I'm lucky enough to hit 3 trainers. 1-2. He needs to move some energy around because of a mispay he made, so he drops shaymin! That means it's game next turn unless he can knockout both my gengars this turn. He checks his discard pile and calls over a judge. I have 1 prize left and there are only 4 pokemon in the discard pile. The judge doesn't even check to verify and takes the poketurn in my hand that was going to win me the game, and puts it in my prizes! Then he gives my opponent another prize card. Another judge walks over and tells me to slow down because I'm making several misplays. That one comment is actually what made me sour about this situation. He warp points around my gengar x, my whole bench is vunerable to mass attack, so I just shake his hand and sigh. He starts takling about how he's so syked to be making topcut, and I wish him luck. He's gonna need it with all the judges watching his matches ;) He then offers to go up to the league play place where you can get prizes by beating people, and says that he'll tell them that he lost to me in league play to make me feel better. I tell him I'll meet him there, and talk to friends for the next 20 minutes whille he wonders where the heck I am.

Much muchlater, I find out that he made top 8, and gets to go to hawaii. Wow.

That, has probably been the only experience in pokemon that has really frustrated me. As for making opponent's cry, I don't think I ever have.

EDIT: Holy crap, this is a long post!
but didn't he use night maintinence the judges should have noticed that
