Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Haxorus: Pals 'n' Partners

OK so the Haxorus (Red Collection) that was revealed is pure epic, because he's well, Haxorus. OK, the card isn't that good, (See below) but hes so darn epic that I absolutly have to make a deck with him. I've devised a strategy devising Dodrio UD to get rid of his RC, so you can retreat your active Haxorus that used Giga Impact last turn and bring up a new one, letting you do 120 damage a turn for only a DCE and an energy of any type. I was also thinking of pairing him with Hydriegon, cause it's ability can put those DCE to good use. Plus, I could call the deck Double Dragons, which is just plain awesome. What other cards could/should be paired with Haxorus?

Card:
Haxorus :colorless: 140 HP

CC Dual Chop 50x
Flip 2 coins. This attack does 50 damage times the number of heads.

CCC Giga Impact 120
This Pokémon can't attack during your next turn.

Weakness: NONE Resistance: NONE Retreat cost: :colorless::colorless:

Switch would be too easy!

But UL Politoad and a free retreating water Pokemon (like UL Manaphy) might work. Politoad might be useful and this would allow you to keep attacking with a single Haxorus.

Dodrio, natch. Free retreat for the Hax and thus the ability to do 120 consistently. Can use Pachi-Shaymin too, by the by.

Nah, too much trouble with the politoad thing. It's a stage two, and even if you get it up you need a free retreating water type. Why go through all that trouble with two water types when you can use a colorless stage 1 pokemon?

And yes, switch could be used, but I feel Dodrio would be a more consistent way of retreating. Maybe I'd throw in a few switch cards anyway though.

With the Pachi-Shaymin thing, I don't think that it would be much use, really. Haxorus is a stage 2, and can be attacking on turn 1 with a DCE anyway. I'd want to make more use for the space. Are there any pokemon out there to help with draw power or high HP?

Pachi and Shaymin sounds great in here because you need 2 attachments with it, and other decks need 1 turn(reshiboar). Also, pluspowers will be useful to knock out popular cards with 130 HP.

turn2: rare cady+ haxorus + double colorless + enginner adjustment (discarding 1 :psychic:) + jirachi UL + energy switch (or mismagius UL).

^^^That suggestion makes it just like ReshiPhlosion, only slower because it's a stage two!

QFT. Would thank, but I can't from my iPod.

Personally, I prefer RamBoar, but either Reshiram variant works here. To get the Haxorus thing set up, you need a Stage 1 and a Stage 2. Your only energy acceleration is DCE. With RamBoar, you need a Stage 2 and a Basic. You have energy acceleration at your disposal all game.

Both achieve the same purpose of hitting 120 per turn. Is there something I'm missing?

after reading about haxorus i came up with this combo

politoed
floatzel
haxorus

politoed is to swap haxorus out for floatzel then retreat floatzel so giga impact is cleared, floatzel is also used for the energy accel.

considering delibird, beartic, dodrio, relicanth, smeargle, cleffa, manaphy as possible techs/support.

yes two stage 2s aren't very fast but politoed is just for the attacking consistency

Sounds pretty fun on paper, kinda like a hit and run except you're bringing in yet another Haxorus to smack things around lol.

You could also use that Victini that lets you reflip coins for your attack and attack with Dual Chop.

Yes, Victini could be used, but Giga impact is stronger even with two heads, so if you use victini it'll only be of use once per game at the most, while you're building up energy. Maybe ninetails...I dunno.

Could this deck actually be good?

Maybe Haxorus/Vileplume...slow them down and nail away at everything.

Bench Victini for flips. Use dodrio for free retreat throughout the whole deck.

4-3-4 Hax
2-2-2 Plume
1-1 dodrio
1 Victini

My line would be just plain Haxorus with some set up poké's.

4-3-4 Haxorus
2-2 Dodrio
2-2 Ninetailes
4- set up pokemon

That's an idea...but what would Victini be used for? Haxorus' best attack is Giga impact and the one you'll be using more.

I wouldn't run Haxorus in the first place because it is a stage 2 which does 120 which is easily achieved by Zekrom and Reshiram but my version would be not as god awfull slow in HGSS-on as your version with Vileplum in it. Vileplume was this format good because with Spiritomb you could achieve a trainer lock from turn 1. Without spiritomb, BTS and the nerf to Rare candy, Vileplume is a liability to run in your Haxorus deck. How are you going to set up two stage two's without a starter, without BTS, with the nerf to Rare candy? At least my version has Ninetailes which makes the deck go a lot faster and a set up pokémon although I can't remember a really good one in HGSS-on. I like the addition of one Victini in it though because he let's you reflip coins for Haxorus his first attack if you can't use Giga Impact.
