EDIT: I have Re-specced the deck. You can find it a few posts down.

My deck, I admit, is a mess. I just kinda slapped some promos, about five booster packs, and a couple of starter decks together to make it, but it has so far been able to hold its own, even against Plasma decks, so I was hoping to improve it.

The keystone of the deck is, of course, White Kyurem EX. Card prices tell me it's not too popular, but I find that my opponents dread a fully-powered White Kyurem EX which can OHKO any Eviolite-equipped Pokemon EX every turn when supported with Plasma Chandelure. Wailord w/ Rocky Helmet is for stall, Darmanitan is for easy power (especially with Plasma Chandelure support), and Reshiram rounds out the set, all of which can be used for P. Communication.

The deck tends to work on Plasma decks by taking advantage of the fact that they peak early. Once I have White Kyurem EX out with enough energy, whatever my opponent has tossed their Plasma energies onto is in for a world of hurt once I drop the ACE Spec. I haven't gone against many Plasma decks, but once I whack their sweeper out of the blue, they tend to just sit there as I plow through them with their speedy energy gone. If I can find a way to make this work even better, I might be able to make it work. I haven't played in years, so I'm not very good at how the new setup works. I probably have too many pokemon and energy and I need more Trainers, but which? What goes and what gets added??

Way too many Energy. Try keeping it to around 14-15 or so. You have way too much diversity in your Pokemon, too. You have numerous Pokemon evolution lines as well. 3 sets of evolution lines followed by a ton of basic. Try keeping the strategy to a limit of less evolutions so that you can focus on getting what you need when you need it.

First of all, you may just want to review this Forum's "The Nature of Deckbuiding" threads (positined at beginning/top of this Forum) to perhaps understand and appreciate some of my upcoming thoughts/comments for suggested improvements.

A well constructed deck has a particular focus and related strategy. Further, to enhance the quality of the deck, you want to limit the supporting caste of Poké (and Trainers) in order to maintain the deck's focus and support your game playing strategy. In this particular case, you've chosen White Kyurem EX (WKEX) as the deck's keystone or "foundation" and built around that Poké with Chandelure (PF) which can boost White Kyurem EX's White Inferno damage output. With this in mind, I'd suggest the following for your consideration:

-2 Wailmer,
-2 Wailord.
Not strongly needed in this deck. Although you mentioned, the Wailord "is for stall...," I submit to you that WKEX is perhaps more effective in this regard. Afterall, how many opponents truly want to inflict extra damage onto your WKEX (which in turn will use that damage to fuel its White Inferno attack)?

-2 Darumaka,
-2 Darmanitan.
Not strongly needed in this deck either. Plus, this Poké has only 110 HP which is well within 1HKO range for many other Poké.

-1 Reshiram EX. This would be "slow" to power up and its attacks aren't that "good" for the associated energy cost and damage risk (Brave Fire).

-1 Lampent. I'd suggest using either PLS version (whose Ability can provide free retreat). With the addition of Rare Candy, 1 Lampent should be sufficient.

-1 Victini. Not that effective as a "1 of," especially when the deck's focus is on WKEX.

+1 Reshiram (Outrage). Excellent starter for the deck and a Poké that uses damage to fuel its excellent Outrage attack. Secondly, this Poké will not be easily donked.

+1 Litwick. These will be prime Catcher targets; so you will want to max these out in hopes that 2-3 can survive beyond turn 2.

+3 Chandelure. This is the deck's energy attachment acceleration "enegine." So, I'd suggest maxing these out too.

-1 Rocky Helmet. "Low" priority, IMHO, with just "1 of."
-2 Cheren. Opting for different, more effective (?) card draw Trainer mix.
-3 Pokémon Communication. Now, less effective with fewer Pokémon.

+2 Bicycle,
+1 Colress,
+4 N,

+1 Professor Juniper. Improved card draw Trainer mix.

+3 Rare Candy. Needed to help get the Chandelures into play quickly.

+1 Skyla. Great supporter to help you get what's needed (Trainer).

+1 Super Rod. For Poké recovery.

+2 Switch.

+2 Level Ball,
+2 Ultra Ball.
To help directly get needed Poké.

-1 Energy Retrieval,
-1 Energy Search.
Not heavily required now with improved card draw engine.

-1 Fire,
-1 Water.
Not heavily required now with improved card draw engine.

Still need to get Catchers in hte deck.

I hope you find these comments helpful.

I certainly see your point after looking at all of the decks here and having the chance to break down one of the Plasma decks I went against(And beat; it was a poorly tailored, but still quite expensive, "Net Decking" job). I am actually using Tin Promo WKEX (With Ice Burn) as my foundation, as, with its Ace Spec, it can hurl around 200 Damage while at perfect health. I have to discard, but the Chandelures let me instantly recharge for another swing. Knock them off balance, then keep hurling 200 damage every turn until I win; that is how I have been running the deck. The other WKEX, however, is for the exact purpose you mention.

Something I was considering, though: Could I use Outrage Zekrom instead of Outrage Reshiram? It can still use Outrage, can survive Plasma Kyurem's attack (assuming no Deoxys EX) and can deal with Keldeo EX, which Reshiram cannot do.

Something else I was looking into was perhaps a Stadium card so I could nuke Frozen City or Viribank? I don't know what a good Stadium would be, though.

I can do a lot of these changes right away, though I will need to ferret out those Trainer cards.

Thanks!

the zekrom you are talking about is :lightning: the keldeo EX (and non) have weakness to :grass:
but zekrom can hold its self in battle and not have weakness :water: but has weakness to another popular type :fighting: so try a bit of both like one one

Apologies - I didn't realize that there were 2 different WKEXs. If the Ice Burn'ing WKEX will be your primary attacker, then you might want to consider adding another 1-2 Super Rods to recover the discarded energy and replenish your deck. Secondly, Eviolites may be useful, as well as Virbank City Gym to 1HKO 180 HP Poké.

Yes. Zekrom is still a good Poké. Btw, use proxies for the cards you might not now have for playtesting purposes. Then get the cards you want after you finalized your decklist.

Of the remaining Stadiums, I'd suggest you try Skyarrow Bridge.

No worries. Both of them are pretty epic. Blend Energy is the only advantage any form of BKEX has over WKEX. I see your point with Virbank/Hypnotoxic Laser for when I don't have Crystal Edge. Is there a card that lets me flip my prizes over, or did that get rotated out? Getting Crystal Edge stuck in my Prizes, even though it's a 10% chance, would kill this deck hard.

As for playtesting, my original name for the deck was "Try all the things", as I was feeling out what worked. WKEX's unsurvivable damage output turned out to be my powerhouse. I'll get to proxying for the next league. (Tourneys will be a while, but I'm new, so...)

Also, is Plasma Umbreon a common card in the metagame, with the HP-boosting effect?

Town Map is the Stadium you are referencing and it is still legal.

I have not yet encountered an opponent running any Eeveelutions. I plan not to run Umbreon in my deck. Some players I know have discussed this tech, but no one has yet incorporated it into his deck.

With your focus on the Ice Burn'ing WKEX, your Chandelure line commitment of 4-1-4 might be cut back to 3-1-3 or 3-0-3 in order to make some room for Pokémon Catchers, Professor Junipers, and/or another WKEX (Plasma Storm).
