I've been thinking about making a lost zone deck since it seems like it would work well in this format. I printed out a proxy deck and tested it against a Zekrom deck and it seemed to work well. Some expert advice would be appreciated.

Pokemon 22:
4 Mew Prime
3 Absol Prime
2-2 Zoroark BW
2-2 Espeon UD
2 Mime Jr. CL
2 Zekrom BW
1-0-2 Tyranitar Prime

T/S/S 20:
2 Junk Arm
3 PONT
2 Flower Shop Lady
3 Pokemon Communication
2 Pokemon Collector
2 Professor Elm's Training Method
2 Dual Balls
2 Interviewer's Question
2 Rare Candy

Energies 18:
7 Psychic
5 Dark
2 DCE
4 Special Dark

So, I've changed this strategy a lot. I've decided to make a major change and drop the Gengar line for an Absol one. Since Mew sends my pokemon to the lost zone but Gengar sends my opponent's pokemon to lost zone it's really hard to play it both ways. Dropping Gengar also allows me to drop a ton of stuff that revolves around it such as rare candies, seekers, Spiritomb TR etc. That way my deck has a lot more free space for other things.Adding in Absol also allows me to send my pokemon to the lost zone while doing damage to my opponent as well. Also I can run more darkness energies that way. Basically, Absol sets up for Mew, then Mew comes in for the KO. The other pokemon are for support.

I also recently decided to ditch the Lucario line and fighting energies for a Tyranitar Prime and Zekrom line. Tyranitar Prime's Darkness Howl makes setting up Zekrom's Outrage easy so I can just sweep with it. I can also Lost Zone the both of them as they have pretty powerful attacks. The other reason is Mew has such low HP(60) and Tyranitar has a whopping 160.
This way I have some pokemon with good HP.

3-2-3 gengar or even 4-3-4

drop 2 of the stage 1 lines and add in 1/2 spiritomb, (Can try a Mr.Mime too)

as for trainers..

Expert belt is rotated and make you trainers something like..

4 rare candy
4 Collector
4 PONT
4 Seeker
2 Twins
2 Lost world

Try to focus on Psy energy with the addition of rescue.

The rest is up to your play style.

Hope these ideas help :)

Thanks for the advice!
I didn't know the expert belt was being rotated out...wasn't aware it was an Arceus card :p bummer..

Anyways, I have a couple questions:
1. When you say drop 2 of the stage 1 lines do you mean get rid of 2 stage 1 pokemon? If so which ones? Also, I looked up Spiritomb TR and it didn't seem like it would be very useful except for one time. Mr. Mime CL looked good though.

2. With the rescue energies when one of my pokemon gets knocked out does my opponent get to take a prize card or not since the pokemon goes back into my hand?

Sorry if these questions are really obvious; I'm new to the TCG so....
thanks!

Yeah, drop 2 whole lines. I would keep espeon. She uses psy energy, and can help spread damage to get ready for a cursed drops.

As for rescue, yes your opponent would still get a prize from the knockout.

Spiritomb is sort of a 1-3 time use. Your opponent will always be trying to keep a low hand free of pokemon to avoid a multi-pokemon Hurl into Darkness. spiritomb helps this a lot. Most times after a spiritomb drop your opponent will draw at least 1 pokemom.

A nice strategy is to play a spiritomb, and then seeker. this way you will have a very good chance to be able to hurl at least 2 and maybe more ;)

Take out the Lucario for another Mew prime. You aren't going to be sending enough of your own pokemon to take advantage of Lucario.

If you're running 2 Mime Jr.s take out the 2-2 Espeon line for a 2-2 Slowking line. This will help you use Mime Jr.'s attack if you need it.

I would also take out 2 Junk Arm, 2 Rare Candy, 2 Copycat and 3 Retrievals for 3 Communication, 3 Collector, 1 Seeker and 2 Reversals. You aren't going to use those cards in enough quantity to run 4 of them, and you need Communications and Collectors to get the deck rolling.

I would also switch the 2 Rescue Energy for 2 Revive. Rescue Energy doesn't actually help any of your attackers except for Zoroark and you run DCE for that. Revive will let you get back a lost Mew without taking up your energy attachment for the turn.

Well, with Lucario, I had always planned on sending at least 4 pokemon to the lost zone. So that automatically makes its Dimension Sphere 110 power.

Do you mean Slowking CL or Slowking Prime? I'm pretty sure CL is the one I want but not completely certain.

And so my T/S/S would look something like this:
3 Pokemon Communication
3 Pokemon Collector
3 PONT
2 Junk Arm
2 Rare Candy
2 Pokemon Reversal
2 Lost World
2 Flower Shop Lady
2 Revive
1 Seeker

Only thing is, the since I only have 1 Haunter the rare candies are used for evolving Gastly. With only 2 will I still be able to draw one when I need it?

And then should I run 2 more psychic energies since I'm doing revives instead of Rescue energies?

thanks!

You also have to remember that running lost world... U may end up not taking many, if any prizes... So hopefully your low count cards don't end up there...

Also a slowking allows u too see ur opp. Next three cards so you know too use seeker and lost zone multiple pokemon.

Hmm...I see..So you're saying maybe drop Lucario and Zoroark because they might end up in the prize area and then be of no use?

And yes, I know Sloking does that. But I only have 1 Seeker; shouldn't I have at least 2 in that case?

Having slowking makes sure that one seeker will count! But two would be better. I have zoroArk so mew can use him. Lucario I'd pass on...that's what 3-5 turns sending pokemon to lost zone for a 120? Seems like a large waste of pokemon and turns.. And besides u don't wanna fill ir deck with pokemon for u to send them off to lost zone when u plan on winning by lost world?

If you're going to go for the lost world win I would run at least 3 Seeker. Every time you play it it's at least 1 guaranteed pokemon in the lost zone.

@Rig: Darkness energies are in there for Zoroark's Foul Play.

@hiddnen: Ok, well, I think I should probably have like 3-4 Seeker then because I'm also using it with Spiritomb CL to make my opponent refresh their hand.

And while I do sorta plan on winning by Gengar's Hurl Into Darkness and then using the Lost World Stadium, I also plan on using Mew a lot. So the more pokemon in the Lost Zone the better; right?

@SMP88: Yeah, I think that is probably good.

ZoroArk foul play is two colorless... U don't need any dark energy unless u want to use Nasty plot. So if u have two psy on mew that's enough to use zoroark. :) and depending on ur opponent that may the only poke u need I'm the lost zone. Haha.

Uhm.. Mr.Mime is basic. So is Mime Jr. I'm not sure if you're intending to run both Mime Jr. and Mew Prime. >_< In my opinion: choose one, not both.
