HG/SS Set Speculation

I think there will be a few sets based around this and the first will probably have Lugia Lv.X, Ho-oh Lv.X, Typhlsoion Lv.X, Meganium Lv.X and Feraligator Lv.X followed by Raikou Lv.X, Entei Lv.X, Celebi Lv.X, Suicune Lv.X, Espeon Lv.X, Umbreon Lv.X followed by Tyranitar Lv.X, Scizor Lv.X, Steelix Lv.X, Kingdra Lv.X, Amphros Lv.X making three sets of Lv.X cards. However this is only my opinion for at least three sets of second generation Pokemon. However if it is not Lv.X and they do switch it (However I think they will do that when a fifth gen comes around) then it would be whatever the new thing is IMO.

Team Rocket is in GS series though.

If I had to GUESS....

Set 1 Base GS set
Set 2 Movie set
Set 3 Rocket Set
Set 4 Gym set
Set 5 Battle Frontier or Kanto set

i think i can agree with this. they're prolly the most fun sets out there.

as far as this set goes, if they bring back magcargo as a power hitter i'll run it just b/c its magcargo and tech in heatran/typhlosion/w/e helps magcargo kill better...
 
I wouldn't be surprised if they discarded the Lv. X mechanic after Advent of Arceus. Where better to leave off than Arceus? and where better to start a new than with Johto?
 
i really want a lugia sp, but it isn't gonna happen. though honestly, sp's have only been around 4 sets.

elemental blast FTW.
 
Heart Gold & Soul Silver: Team Rocket Returns Again... that would be good...

I reckon they'll introduce a new mechanic but i would love a reprint of LugiaEX!!!!

If they keep Lv.X i'm thinking:
Set 1: Meganium Typhlosion Feraligatr
Set 2: Umbreon and Espeon Lugia and Ho-Oh
 
Here should be all the lv.x from the set HO-OH lv.x and LUGIA lv.x, ENTEI lv.x, Suicune lv.x and Raikou lv.x, Celebi lv.x, and Jirachi lv.x, And More Sp Tools Would be awesome, And More sp tools and pokemon would be nice.
 
Maybe there will be another arceus x, because arceus is involved in the game. I can imagine that there is a red gyarados x or shiny gyarados because it is an important part of the game. Besides there can be a lugiax, ho-oh x and the starters x.
 
Espeon/Umbreon, a teddiursa with a cute pic/playable ursaring, and then a rockets set. I will be completely satisfied.
 
Here's what I hope and expect to see.

Meganium Lv. X,
Typhlosion Lv. X,
Feraligatr Lv. X,
Ho-Oh Lv. X,
Lugia Lv. X
Celebi Lv. X
Later sets will have the powerhouses like Tyranitar and Kingdra.

It's possible we'll get some Pokemon-SPs for Team Rocket, too. Persian R, Raticate R, Murkrow R, Sneasel R, that sort of thing.

But What I really want to see are reprints from Neo Genesis. I can see it going one of two ways. Either we get the fully evolved starters from the Neo 1 Promo set, or cards that were used like Slowking, Sneasel and that Feraligatr from the Neo 1 Promo set. This sort of does two things, affords you Pokemon that were in the game but later evolved as powerful cards, and annoys those who think Pokemon-SP are destroying the game.

Shining Pokemon will definitely include Gyarados. I fail to see how it can't. Another may be Noctowl, though I'm unsure if we'll be as lucky to get two good shining Pokemon.
 
I still think they'll keep the Level X concept, seeing as they only change it each generation....and that isn't happening now.

The Level Xs I expect in the first HGSS set are:
-Meganium LV. X
-Typhlosion LV. X
-Feraligatr LV. X
-Ho-Oh LV. X
-Lugia LV. X

...and another 1/2 Level Xs...perhaps Espeon and Umbreon?

After that, I expect another Rocket set, along with a set that features the Legendary Beasts and Celebi. That's at least 3.....and I expect popular GS Pokes to be in those sets.

I still think we have a number of sets to go before we reach the 5th generation, though....I wonder what they'll do with the remaining sets.

I think you didn't get his point. Team Rocket are the villains in the Gold/Silver games. A Team Rocket themes set would be a very natural part of the GS/Legends block, not just something to follow it after it's done. HGSS is the second "re-release video game pair" to be released by Nintendo. The last time was FRLG five years ago. The first TCG-set based on FRLG had the starters etc, and the second (at least in PUSA's order) already had the Rocket's Pokemon. This was perhaps the best set ever, so we should be excited about the fact that the card designers may in fact be putting the finishing touches on a new Rocket expansion right now!

On your list for Platinum, you can strike off the ground form Shaymim and Drapion. They were never intended (by the card designers) to be in that expansion. In fact, they belong to the previous BLOCK (DP series). :eek: Thr random set lists we sometimes end up with outside Japan ...
