Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

HGSS Triumphant

Gengar Prime will be a beast. This set looks really nice, and I like the name (beats the Secret Wonders, Mysterious Encounters, Ephemeral Happenings pattern, ha).

Something else I noticed. Cases of product are now being referred to as "Master Cartons". How long has this been going on?

Looks like this is going to be the next Stormfront/Platinum. So far this probably will have more useful cards than the whole HGSS Block combined.

Oh god here we go. If Gengar Prime/Absol G/Lost World decks become popular, it's gunna be an all out war between that and Sablelock. Time to max out them Lookers and Judges I guess...ugh...

Rescue energy confirmed! Gyarados gets one last hurrah! :)

I find it interesting that they're rolling it all together. I hoped they'd do it, but honestly I didn't think they would. With the B & W block of cards starting in Feb, it bodes well for us getting the games in March. Usually the 'game sets' (HGSS, DP, PL, EM, FRLG, etc.) have been pretty darn close to the game release, as far as I know.

The "Royal Guard" PCD has got to be Nidoqueen & Nidoking. In which case I'm totally going for that one for the Theme Deck Challenge at PRs.

Triumphant is pretty good. Much better than matching the UN expansion names with something like UNnonvictorious.

Set abbreviation conflict alert!
TR (taken)
TriumphanT (it's Pokemon, not racing motorcycles :nonono:)
HST ?
TRI?
™ ?

The name is aweful. But, what's ina name anyway? I'm more interestered in that Gengar Prime+Lost World combo I'll be playing at citites

Edit: I tak ehte name idea back. ^^ After reading som eother comments I agree that it does sound pretty good as a set. v^^ Sorry TPCi!

I think the name is great. One word says it all...

When you guys get to be awesome game designers, you will get to name things yourself as well.

Awesome game designers wouldnt do something like lost world :/

What keeps me wondering, was this card designed for a 3 or a 6 prize format?

This looks like it is going to be the first decent HGSS set. Hopefully I won't be disappointed, but with 8 Prime, it should be interesting. I will say that if they decide when the transition into BW and get rid of Legends and Primes I hope they go backwards as far as card type and not change it to something to new. I'd rather them keep it the same than do that. There is a reason Ex cards lasted 15 or so sets, they were good. The fact is that I just hope that this isn't what happens, but we will find out in a few months. I expect it will be something new but hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised.

I will also say over 100 cards is nice to see. That makes me happier. I am not a fan of sets under 130 cards. I mean If I had my way, all sets would be closer to 200 cards. I mean with the addition of BW we are going to have 600+ Pokemon and the fact is 100 card sets are just not going to cut it anymore IMO.

I hope lost world is cut out. And i agree with previous posts. If its not cut, Flygon will have a field day

WHY WOULD FLYGON HELP AGAINST LOST WORLD -.-"
The moment lost world is on the field youve already lost the game

lost world is a stadium isnt it? if im not mistaken, flygon discards stadiums. And most players would play down their lost world sooner rather than later for fear of lookers and judge.

why on earth would flygon have a field day? gengar is resistant to colorless, flygon decks are gonna have plenty of pokemon in their hand for you to lost zone with gengars first attack. and anyone who isn't a total noob isn't gonna play their lost world down until you have enough in there for them to just be like "ok, my turn? draw, lost world, I win. good game."

Did you ignore my previous post? They need the stadium to win obviously. Any smart player is not going o wait for all the time in the world to play the card when 6 pokemon are in the lost zone. With so many cards for hand disruption, like lookers, judge, cyrus initiative, i dont see why someone would wait to play the stadium when there is a chance they wont have it on hand when its needed

If you're playing Flygon they'll obviously accept the risk of Judge to avoid an even bigger risk.

yeah i know that. But thats what im saying. So what Gengar has a resistant to colorless? thats not the point. Not to mention Gengars first attack is good, but his second is subpar. Lost world decks are good, but if they become really popular there are excellent techs to use against them

Why does everyone think we're not getting Lost World? Yes we are, it says in the description that we're getting a stadium that is going to change gameplay strategies and the other stadium only gives legends 30 more HP and that's not really a change in a strategy. So we should just go with the fact that SP's aren't going to be as dominant this season. All I have to say now is,Lost Cyclone(Palkia G Lv X)+Hunter+Lost World+Plunge Into Darkness(Gengar Prime)=good game and yes I've already made the deck with a crap load of proxies and it's working very well.
