Another prerelease tournament in central Iowa!
Location: Mayhem Collectibles; Ames, Iowa
Date: June 5, 2004
Time: Registration starts at 12:00 noon, Tournament starts at 1:00 pm
Entry Fee: $15
Side Event: Unlimited tournament, no entry fee
This is an officially sanctioned Limited tournament, and the entry fee goes directly toward the purchase of six EX Hidden Legends booster packs (which are yours to use in the tournament and keep).
In a prerelease tournament, you receive your six booster packs and construct a 40-card deck using only the cards from those packs as well as provided basic Energy cards (Fighting, Fire, Grass, Lightning, Psychic, and Water). Trading these cards between players is not allowed until the end of the tournament. The main tournament has the usual prize distribution in each of the age groups.
For the first time, this prerelease also features a Theme Deck Challenge for those players that are new to the game or shy about tournament competition. This event happens at the same time as the main prerelease event, and it is limited to 24 players (with preference given to younger and/or less experienced players). Depending on availability, this type of event may be held as a side event as well.
The side event will be a sanctioned Unlimited tournament, and it will start after the prerelease tournament is finished. The entry fee will be used to provide as many prizes as possible (depending on attendance). Remember, an Unlimited tournament needs a 60-card deck, with every card usable except for Ancient Mew and _________'s Pikachu.
