Hollywood has urinated on my childhood once again

Dragonball:Evolution. I really have no idea how many IQ points I dropped thinking this movie might be a good idea to watch to postpone doing the dishes. Now seeing that i should've done the dishes and maybe went for a walk instead. I just hope that someone who hasn't seen it reads this in time not to watch it. My prayers go out to all of you.

"Arceus who art at spear pillar. Pokemon be thy name. The Elite Four done, The champion done. At league as I am in sinnoh. Give us this day out daily poffin, and forgive us our ego as we forgive those who underestimate us. And lead us not into Galatic but deliver us from rocket for thine is the Battle front and power and glory for ever and ever

I choose you"

I never even used to watch Dragonball-Z and was insulted at how they thought this movie was worth making and wasting people's time with.

I'm going to guess that you are that guy who is just so cool that you dislike everything that anybody else likes?

The movie was completely horrible.
Seriously, Oozaru = Wolfman FTL.

A DB/DBZ/DBGT movie could be amazing, but this was beyond all definitions of terrible.

No, Dragonball-Z was never particularly a hit where I was. I did watch most of the regular childhood cartoons (Digimon, Transformers, Captain Planet, etc.) and I do agree with your rating of the movie.

well... the movie sucked. alot. the original dragon ball manga was a piece of art. wonderfil story with great drawing. the series went"fart sound." after saiyan saga. gt was really bad. thats my opinion

I always enjoyed DBZ up to the cell saga because frieza is my hands down favourite villan and cell just had a little bit of frieza in him.

Classic DBZ

Freeza to Super Sayain Goku: "In [DEL]5 minutes[/DEL] 10 episodes, Namek willl explode!!!"
*Goku beats Freeza 10 Episodes later*
Goku to no one else since the ENTIRE population of the planet is either dead or on Earth: "Oh no I only have [DEL]30 seconds [/DEL]2 episodes to get to the other side of the planet, find out the ship I want to use is fried, realize I can use the Ginyu force's ship which landed somewhere that I inexplicatly know the location of despite never seeing them, figure out the controles and escape!!!"

Lol, still a childhood favorite. Just like Pokemon. I'll over analyze and critsize the heck out of it, but I still love it.

Frunket I agree with you on that. I read that there was a movie coming out and I wanted to see it forever and when I did I thank I lost some IQ points. I felt stupider after seeing it and I didn't even watch the whole thing. The chracters didn't look anything like they should have and they made Chi-chi well for most parts I can't even say what they made her on here but yeah it was that bad. So just a warning to anyone still wanting to see it. I thank you should study a lot before hand so after you lose all of them IQ points you wouldn't be to much stupider then you were before seeing it. To bad I'm not in high school any more because that would be a good reason for getting a F on a test. lol

I'll just say that watching that movie literally made me depressed for about 4 days. Like I was considering getting some sort of exam or something to see if I had clinical depression.

I saw this movie and was not disappointed. It was exactly how I imagined a live action Dragonball/Dragonball Z movie would be like, minus some script stuff. It's just as ridiculous as the cartoon was, it is just judged because it isn't a cartoon. I am by no means saying it's good, but what can you expect? It's a live action Dragonball movie. And despite the US and Japanese reviews, it apparently did really well in China and they're making a second one last time I checked on imdb.

So you weren't expecting them to ignore almost everything but the names of the characters?
I don't judge it because it wasn't a cartoon, I judge it because it completely perverted the source material.

Goku is no longer from a proud warrior race, just an attack dog.
Goku didn't meet Bulma until after he was in high school (which I'm pretty sure he never attended).
Picollo raids batman's closet.
Oozaru is a werewolf instead of a building-sized monster that levels entire cities.
Umm....

Seriously, it says a lot about how bad a movie was when I can't even remember all the ways it failed.

I'm honestly surprised that they didn't just make Picollo go super sayain and then have Uub come in to help win the fight by using fusion with Chaotzu. . . .
It was that bad.

Just like you can't have a Star Trek movie without Scottie saying, "I'm givin 'er all she's got, cap'n", you can't have a DBZ reference without the number 9,000 coming up at some point.

If going by source material is the case, then someone might draw the conclusion that you may feel the same way about movies such as Iron Man and Iron Man 2, and all other super hero movies. While I'm very displeased at what looks like to be an inevitable storm of awful in M. Night Shamwow's "The Last Air Bender" I understand that it is a story he is telling is his version of something that had already happened. Oh wait, that's every adaptation of every book, graphic novel, what have you, ever made. To be fair, you say that Goku was not from a proud warrior race. That is true, they did not bring that up in the movie. They didn't bring it up in the original Dragonball series either. They did in Dragonball Z. Getting mad at a movie that you knew was going to be bad just seems like a waste of time. It's Hollywood. Narry an original thought to be found for the most part in these last few years.
