Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Holon Engine

Holon Transciever
Holon Mentor
Holon Scientist
Holon Adventurer <--- New with Holon Phantoms

Holon Transciever grabs the others from the deck or discard pile and uses them. So if you run 3 transciever and 1 of the others, you can effectively use the others 4 times if needed.

I hate scientist. I mean I run 1 every now and then it is always useless. Adventurer is a better replacement IMHO.

Problem is with Adventurer don't you discard two to draw 3 if not 4 if your second card discarded is a d Pokémon?

He was referring to playing the Holon Adventurer (1 Card) then discarding a card (2 Cards) to draw (3 Cards), so 3-2 = 1 net.

Then I must be missing something. Cause playing the card requires you to discard a card, but thats the only card you discard in the process. Just look at the scan.

You discard a card, if that card is a Delta species, draw 4 cardsinstead.

so. 4 cards-1=3. its omg! Rockets Mission! or the TA/TM schemer(isnt it schemer? lol)

The discard is the Holon Supporter discard. No addition discard, so yes it works out the same as a Delta Rocket's Mission, except that you can find it with Transceiver (which I'd say makes it a lot better than TVR).

I say...
Holon Lass has always been a helpful addition to the Holon Engine for me. The 1 discard is usually the 3-4 Energy it nets me, also increasing the likelihood of drawing other non-Energy cards I need. It also sets me up for a few, almost assured, turns of Energy attaching.

depending which deck i use, i use different cards:
ttarts:3trans,3 mentor. no lass, cause i need nrg in my deck, already have retreivers, and scientists suck. i'm gonna use adventurer too.

Apparently the idea of hand size is a little too much to grasp. :frown:

Hand size = 2

Lets say you play Holon Adventurer. Now you have 1 card in your hand, discard it and your hand size = 0. Draw 3 cards.

Hand size = 3

Net gain = 1

You lose 2 cards to gain 3. I don't care how many times you read the card or how it is worded, that's just plain and simple common sense. Yes, its the same as Rocket's Mission but nobody was able to grasp the math involved in that card either.

I really don't see Adventurer being that much better than Scientist. Scientist can get you a lot more cards, and generally speaking WILL get you a lot more cards. Still, both cards are quite specific in their uses and overall the Holon Engine is about as efficient as 2-stroke on a Yukon, but that's just me.

adventurer gives you more consistent draw than scientist does. sort of like mary's request and steven's, mary's is more consistent (if you play a deck w/ no stage two's in it) yet stevens has the capablity of getting you more cards.

he's counting the adventurer as a lost card. it's not. in deck that don't use delta pokemon, I prefer to run 1 scientist. my normal holon engine:

3 transciever
2 mentor
1 scientist

although in the next format, it's holon time, and the completely holon engine will reign.

4 transciever
2 mentor
3 adventurer
1 farmer
2 scientist
4 holon lake

try that out.

That's what a straight Delta deck should use.
