Holon WP energy effects

Hi, was just wondering how WP stops attack's effects.

1) Dragonite ex d uses its 2nd attack to place 8 counters on me. If i have WP attached do i sustain damage?

2) If an attack does 10+ damage. Is the effect of the attack with added damage blocked?

3) I get poisoned by an attack does it actually poison me?

1. You take no damage. Placing counters is an effect.

2. Doing damage is never an effect. Text is just a calcualtion. You take the full damage.

3. Placing the Poison status is an effect and is stopped.
However, if you were already poisoned before you activated the Holon WP, you would keep taking damage from the effect. It doesn't get rid of existing effects.
