Honchkrow for Cities - Staying Power Difficulties

Ah, another premier ball. Given that I'm adding two Lv. X's to four, I should've seen it.

I love it this year - it's *relatively* cheap and in theory should fair well against Dusknoir.

Thanks!

since honchkrow lvl x is supposed to sit on the bench and not fight, i would agree that you should make the line 4-2-2
i would run at least one stadium (anti dusknoir), snowpoint or moonlight most likely. you can always retrieve it from the discard pile with the level x's attack

I'm acually thinking about bringing mine back to life also :p

If you do add more x's I'd run 3 or 4 premiers

Also add 2 moon light stadiums

I like Warp Point, but wish the switching opponent's was optional. ... I'm thinking I'll keep it as I can plan for/around it, whereas my opponent can't, so the surprise value makes up any hassle it is to me if I'm ever forced to use it.

Have you thought about WARP ENERGY or.. a SWITCH card?

Rocking four Call Energies, I feel that warp energy is out of the question.

I'd like to debate Switch v. Warp Point in the context of this deck.

Switch: lets me double-level X in one turn, which is critical on the second turn, without letting my opponent potentially switch his pokemon.

Warp Point: All the benefits of switch, but sometimes when I used it solely for the retreat effect benefited my opponent.

Experiences? Theory?

The switch-v-warp point never came up in Cities today, went 3-1, losing to the top ranked player in our state, 3rd on tie-breakers. Lesson learned from cities:

If I'm set up and then take out a Dusky Lv. X, as long as I keep a Bronzong MD from hitting the deck I can still easily outrace it.

Other than that, I'm not sure of where to take this. I think snowpoint's a great idea, but I hardly ever use the Dark Genes pokebody - I typically need the greater damage that's boosted by Darkrai X's body.

Furthermore, the Night Maintenances were played a grand total of zero times across six games.

Still tweaking,
Zak

Nice idea!, snowpoint temple is a great card!, you can add an Unown E and one of your krows maybe survives to a Kingdra attack.

And you dont need Darkrai, murkrows attacks without energy.

I won't add in the Night Maintenance. If I can't stabilize with what's left I'm typically beyond the point of where a single NM would enable recovery. -2 TGM -1 Premier Ball +2 Unown G +1 Uxie Lv X if I can get one.

Completely updated with a more in depth analysis. Strats don't vary too much from deck-to-deck, other than priorities on what to eliminate first.

i would drop the quikballs for duskballs or greatballs they give you mostly what you want like a murkrow or whatever else

good luck

I have so much basic tutoring that Great Balls are really redundant.

Also, I filter out so many Pokemon so quickly that odds are that a Dusk Ball will fizzle. I'll playtest them after cities just to be safe, though.
