Are we able to change the reservation type (if we had to get a king when we need a double) now that you've added more rooms?

You can try but I don't think they added Doubles, I believe the hotel is out of Doubles . Don't forget that you can request a FREE adult roll-a-way bed or an air mattress with your room OR upgrade your King for 10.00 more and get a bigger King.

Focus Focus Focus Focus on Regionals. Nothin' left to focus on but Regionals.

I know the Houston players are ready because if Battle Roads are any indication on attendance, Houston is ready. The greater Houston area had it's highest attended Battle Roads series ever with 497 players in 7 tournaments. The greater Houston area players are very excited about having players from all over the United States come to Houston. They're also excited about their fellow Texas players coming in for the weekend.

Our judge staff is set and ready to go. We have pretty much the same staff as April's Regionals so we're expecting another great tournament.

We have two vendors and both will be open all 3 days for your Pokemon needs and shopping.

Strikezone - Buying and selling Singles (no bulk), selling booster packs, tins, dice, sleeves, mats, etc. Check their website or prices for buying and selling.

Space Cadets Collections - Anything and everything Pokemon related. Space Cadets is a toy store, so expect a lot of Pokemon stuff.

Both vendors were at our Regionals in April and a huge hit with the players and parents.

For your hunger needs, we've set up a cash concessions bar for everyone. it will be set up right outside the tournament room. We've managed to keep the cost down so now you know it won't cost an arm and a leg to stay at the hotel and grab a bite to eat. Here is the breakfast and lunch menu. There is also a Starbucks on the 3rd floor and a restaurant on the first floor. Both are somewhat reasonably priced for being in a hotel.

Breakfast menu - Starts 8:00 am (all prices final, tax built in)

1.75 - Assorted danish & muffins
1.00 - Whole fresh fruit
1.25 - Assorted box cereals
2.50 - Hot ham & cheese croissants
1.00 - Whole milk or 2% milk
2.00 - Orange Juice
2.00 - Bottled water

---------------------------------

7.00 - Personal pizza (cheese, pepperoni, or supreme)
7.00 - Chicken tenders with french fries
7.00 - Smoked turkey sandwich, with side salad
7.00 - Grilled chicken sandwich, with side salad
7.00 - Ham & cheese sandwich, with side salad
1.00 - Cookie or Brownie
1.00 - Bag of chips, assorted flavors
2.00 - Bottled water or soft drink

See, not so bad for being in a hotel.

There's also a crosswalk on the 3rd floor that leads to Memorial City Mall which has a food court of course and there's a Cheesecake Factory directly across the street.

I live in Austin and I wanna go but am new to the area and have no transportation and not enough money to afford it all by myself. I do have loot that I can throw down for gas and a room. If anyone is interested in helping out a new, broke Texan get to regionals; that would be awesome. again, I have money to help out.

Great news, update on hotel rooms for Oct. 12 & 13 - Due to another groups block opening up, the hotel now has plenty of rooms for Saturday & Sunday. Starting Tuesday, our link will be closed BUT you can call Shauntel Smith @ 281-501-4308 or email her at [email protected] to book a room in our block at 89.00+tax

I think asking for rides and rooms was made illegal here on pokegym a few years ago.
Good Luck

But I am happy Dragon Vault isn't Legal. Would be hard to mass buy like a week before.
First Ticket would be everywhere.

Hi reshimatt you might want to check this thread, as homeofmew said ride seeking and Room sharing is not allowed. Unfortunately you will have to find another way to get there. Here is the thread if you want to look

Will the Scrafty playmat and victini hat be prizes too?

Yes, along with the Darkrai binders.

To everyone,

We have the entire 4th floor for Pokemon.

VERY IMPORTANT - ALL players MUST have a deck list AND their Player ID written on the deck list to enter the main tournament room.

If you somehow manage to make it in the room without a player id, the computer operators WILL NOT stop and look up a player id. You will be asked to leave the room to get a player id or do a player id search at the welcome desk.

We will do registration just like in April.

Each division will have it's own line, each player will register with the computer person on stage. The computer person will give the player a promo card and raffle ticket. A player will get an extra ticket if they're wearing a Pokemon themed shirt. The player will then be directed to the judges to have the deck checked. All players will be asked to leave the ballroom after their deck has been checked. Feel free to hang out in one of the breakout rooms or outside the tournament room.

While you're in line - you'll notice a GIANT POKEBALL sitting next to each computer. Each division has it's own computer and GIANT POKEBALL. There will be a Pokemon in each ball. While in line, you'll write down on your deck list what Pokemon you think is in the GIANT POKEBALL. Juniors will guess for their GIANT POKEBALL, Seniors for there GIANT POKEBALL, and Masters for their GIANT POKEBALL. Each division will have a different Pokemon. Pens will be on the tables for you to use. Just write your guess on the TOP of your deck list.

After deck checks, we'll have a SEATED roster check to verify all players are present. Announcements will happen while everyone is seated for roster check. Judges will be introduced after the announcements. Pairings will be put up during judge introductions and players will be released from roster check for Round 1 after the introductions. This worked like a charm in April and we expect it will be the same this time around.

SEATING OUTSIDE THE TOURNAMENT ROOM - We have several breakout rooms with table and chairs and tables and chairs set up along the right side of the tournament room.

Have you gotten confirmation on T&T yet?

We never heard back from T&T so as of now, they are not scheduled to be in Houston.

We have two vendors ready to go and they will be open Friday night, all of Saturday and Sunday. These two vendors were with us in April and the players were very happy with them.

what time will the vendors get there on Friday ?

I believe by 6:00 or 7:00 pm.

To everyone:

Our Pokemon block link is now closed BUT you can still book rooms without any problems.

Call Shauntel Smith @ 281-501-4308 or email [email protected]

Shauntel is the Westin group coordinator and tell her the group name - Pokemon Regional Tournament.

Rooms are still 89.00 + tax

Please email us at [email protected] once you've booked through her so that we can get you in the raffle drawings for booking a room or rooms OR just post here that you booked and let us know what night or nights.

I would like to know if it takes more than 24 hours for her to respond to you. This is very important.
