How can we make The PokeGym and/or the Compendium better?

custom avatars are NOT as terrible as the admins here make them out to be.

honestly for the most part, the members here are going to be mature and post respectable avatars. if they dont, you remove them. simple as that. if the person persists, you perminantly remove their avatar privs or ban them. both of which you can do.

'but ech!' you say 'us admins dont have the TIME to go and look at everyone's avatar!'

well, what happens if someone posts an off color topic? does it go unnoticed until the admins come around? nope! the magic of the 'report post' button helps you out.

so i see a new member called 'amelia earhart h8r' with the bleached bones of our favorite female aviator... i just simply report their post, and the admin gets the message once they get the chance, and viola, can take care of it.

the avatars can be hosted on the users own webspace, so it doesnt do anything to the bandwidth here... in fact, it would most likely decrease it, since less people will be using yours.

i think that custom avatars would create more of a scene of individuality to the site, and give us more of a feeling that this is in fact our site, and not your site that you are allowing us to post on.

Don't let people troll up old topics 7 months after they are done with!

The posts are out of context now and my improvements still stick with the topics of -

Direction for the gym - just what is it for if not the official board for PUI Nintendo then all posts and posters should not be threatened if they step on PUI/Nintendo from time to time.. Certainly threats of bannings should not be seen just because information has been posted that Ninty/PUI don't like.

Recognition from posters - that what you experience in life, in pokemon, in everything is not what everyone else does. Just because Ninty/PUI made a real fudge up of the first year Internationally does not mean they didn't deliver an awesome programme in the US. We will be miffed by that outside the US so we all need to understand where posts come from. The world is not just the US and not everything outside the US is rubbish.. Certainly in the UK the last few weeks appear to have our OP provider finally delivering and that maybe due to PUI/Ninty finally delivering too...

Respect - personally I hate the 2l33t4U sigs, the we was robbed posts and the general lack of respect shown by some posters. Respect others for their opinions and stance even if they are different to yor own and try to think outside your own perspective. And when we see a NOOB lets not flame them for posting a daft question after all the only stupid question is the one not asked..

So Direction, Recognition and Respect.. that will make the gym better now can we close this old thread and get on with it?
