Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

How do you cook a duck?

Krow is the anti-setup setup deck. Like any setup deck, if you remove important components early the chances of it getting started are lesser. If your opponent doesn't get an absol start (the chances of this happening are at least reasonable in a 4 krow, 4 absol, 1 umbreon list), it shouldn't be hard to do, assuming you can attack turn 2 or 3. GENERALIZED SOLUTION: don't play a setup deck. Go with something that requires very few (or any combination of many) cards to deal damage. It's nice if you are fortunate enough to be able to deal big, sustained damage in the first 2-5 turns. Or, play something that draws heavily without much difficulty. Krow relies on crippling its opponents' setups in the first turn or two of games and damaging them throughout, so the logical response is to play something fast and versatile.

Japan (which by the way still has Holon Engine) disagrees, according to Tego (and my ability to read... Which hopefully is accurate). Having played a few games with that card in my deck, I see why; it's much better then originally thought (broken, no. Useful, yes).

They also have VS Seeker, meaning they only need ONE Birch, and they can keep bringing it back when they need it.

LatiLock doesn't stop you,....... at all. You're not suppost to be attacking with Krows. Dark Wing needs to be powered up, if you're attacking with Krows, there's something wrong with your current setup OR you have no hand. Imho.

Actually, I would say that I literally attacked with Krows more than any other Pokemon in my two cities. It's amazing how much damage you can do when you cycle through those things. You pretty much only send up Honch and the lvlx when you know they won't ko you back.

Latilock would hurt. But it isn't the end of the world. It's not that hard to attack with DWD instead of Murkrow. If Latilock and other counters get more popular, we will adapt. We can change our list, too you know.

A few points...

Skarmbliss- Yes, that is why Boofu and I named it DarkWing Duck.dec
Tyranitarfreak- DWD might settle down a little, but it will never be forgotten.
Cyrus-I agree with your agreeance. Absol is Stantler's pwndaddy
Scipio-The problem with someone playing Professor Birch is that they are actually playing professor birch.

Re the Scipio comment: I don't care what Japan thinks...All I know is that Birch is a pretty legitimate card. I'd never play it just to counter Donkrow, but no underestimation, my lad. :p

Why would you play Birch over Stevens?

That actually crossed my mind while posting the above. However, Birch is nice when your hand is zero. No card is more effective, because Honchkrow isn't going to have a full bench.

But yeah, Steve is overall a much more well-rounded card. However, that's not to say that Birch is bad. Who knows...you could maybe play both in the same deck :x

The problem I have with Birch is this: Birch is more useful as your hand gets smaller, right? But the smaller your hand gets, the higher the odds your opponent will nail it with a removal effect. Whereas with Stevens, you can draw any time your hand gets to 6 or less.

unown pokepower one. oops. did i just win the thread.

You have unown N (funny, but not too useful unless you also have D, which would give you a TON of cards on the bench), E (horrid on the bench. NOT a bench warmer AT ALL), AND O all at once? And none of them even are that impressive at attacking? Wow... Only Luvdisc could set something like that up... (until we get Pachirisu, and even then, it's still bleh looking)

And the reason I like birch over Stevens in speed decks is 'cause nothing ensures your opponent will even have 2 pokemon for you to draw with Steven's. You might be able to draw 6... You might be able to draw 3. It's not as easily manipulatable as Birch, which can make a big difference early game. But yes... Making sure it's not discarded can be problematic, yes.

Claydol loses to nothing. YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO KEEP THIS UNDER WRAPS JK, NOW IM GONNA HAVE TO SILENCE YOU FOREVER!!!!!1! (jk)

How to beat it: Rare Candy, Castaway, and playing cards directly from your hand the turn that you get them.

Let me just say Plusle and Minun are GOOD! I teched them into one of my test decks and WOW. It's amazing how well they help enable recovery from an Absol start.
