TOP8
DECK CHECK!!!(this is where it begins)
They take like 5 mins to check my opponents list, and took about 15 on mine.
So here it is
I am playing 2 JPN Cessation crystal. My cases are regular ultra*pro cases, BUT THESE JUDGES WERE LIKE"Erm sorry they kinda showing thorugh the cases and ummm there diffrent backgrounds so we think you marked these cards" "I am gonna have to give you a game loss, and please take out cess for energys"
and i was like
"Cant i just change em into English ones?"
they were like
"Sorry if this was a regular tournament, but since this is a CHAMPIONSHIPS(isnt every single tournament a CHAMPIONSHIP?!?!) i would let you off with a caution"

So Lets see, im facing flygon and i have XX cessations left great lets play!!!

0-1

I get castform start, I cant really get anything rolling, im stressed out a little to what had happened. I cant win without my cessation he rolls heads on every confusion roll w/e stupid
0-2

In the end.
Judges at todays tournament, gosh. Im sorry for the language mods but I am down right angry. This was my tournament for the win if not T4 for sure. Ill see you back @ BR and Nats and if this happens again someone is getting punched out.
***PROBLEM NUMBER 2***
On my arm I had written the following:
Dont Forget(means dont forget lol)
13(shuffle deck 13 times)
ELAST(games are long don't worry you got time)
Think(well think lol)
Check this out please CLICK HERE
I get a warning how dumb.

I get my 18 packs and leave pull a Skarmory and Shiiftry ex. Im writing an email to POP also.

So in the end...
If it was city, would have you let me go as you said
This really ruins your credibility as a good judge since you said that? Cuase are not all tournaments the same? City,Regs?
IM SORRY I CANT AFFORD ENGLISH CARDS(100% OF my pokemon were borrowed)
IM SORRY I CANT AFFORD SLEEVES THAT MAY BE A LITTLE THICKER(would it of mattered?)
Ill be back @ Nats guys, this time its for BLOOD!!!

Props:
-Jimmy, man you helped me out so much man hope you win today(Hes 5-0 atm btw!!!(just like i was lol)
-Kant for being cool and lending me cards
-Kevin for going 6-0(he just started pretty much!)
-Garret(PA) you lent me Ray d ex, but you screwed me in t8
Slops:
-Judges, you **** soooo much alright.
First you give Kants bro(Monta S) game loss for writing on his arm
the you screw me over. Get a life.
-Sorry garret im just really angry >.<

*Note: No they only checked out our lists(you know make sure it was 60 cards). And they watched me alot during the games and never said anything.
I did have translation
I did not have english CC

The writing on the arm thing was discussed in a thread here before, they ruled it fine, as long as it doesn't list anything about your opponent nor does it have to do with communication with another player. As for the judges, I've had that, and I was allowed to change sleeves. Also, I had one case where I didn't have better sleeves, and they just let me switch cards to english ones ;/ gg judges you phail @ lyf. Wow man, I feel bad :/ Stupid judges FTL. Sorry you got messed up.

First of all, where was this? Did they have deck checks before the torney started? If they did deck checks and your deck was OK at that time, I can see why you are upset. If they didnt, well, thats another issue. Of course, the player is ultimately responsible for their deck, sleeves, card dexs etc. I wouldnt come on here tho and spout all that without more explanation.

eww tats bad..=( There was like 3 DQ's In seniors because they supposedly had 61 cards. =/
And it jumped one kid to top 2 =/.... other than that the tournament was ok..

HI there
Even those I dont know you but I can said that got to be the the most dumb thing I have ever seen.
I can understand the game loss since they really strict about the sleeves but you cant swtich out the JPN CC for a english one is just stupid. You are taking the guy deck apart. Every cards he put in there is for a reason and now you asking him to put energy. Sorry man bad luck I guess it not your day.

Question: Howcome you didnt put the englsih CC in the first place. If not bring a translation. That still a bad ruling those bescause You can borrow a english one and leave it outside so your oppenent can read it.

So you ran 2 CC english and 2 JPN? If you the translation why in the worlds it matter if you have the JPN one.? If the sleeves of the JPN was to be "mark" then if you replace it with energy that would still be cheating....

I lost because my opponent drew an extra prize on me. I cant begin to explain how ****** I am, and I probably would get banned if I do...

btw, I trained Kevin, which is why he could go 6-0 so easily

That's pretty horrible dude...good luck on setting things straight, make sure to let us know how it turns out

tough luck boys. Im sorry about the match pokekid, but thats how it goes I guess. Nice deck though, and I had to take a chance on confusion.. it's 50/50 and my Flygon has 150 HP so I could have risked hitting tails a few times. As for Kant.. yea, your opponent took a prize without anybody knowing, and that is wrong on his part, but his story is that he didn't know either. Whatever the case though, you can't blame the judges... you noticed four turns after the prize was taken... and the judges had to look after Masters 4 matches + senior 4 matches. Can't always just say poor judging to take out your anger... sometimes it's just bad luck and poor recognition on both playrs parts. You are still a top pokemon player, so dont let it get to you. There's still battleroads... and if it makes you feel better I took the match between me and him..... heh.... see you at nationals.

So, the important question is, who won first in the Regionals?

<--- Is the bloke that took 6-0 in the Swiss Rounds only to lost horribly against a Flygon deck :frown:

Hey Pokekid
I was considering coming to this event...good thing I didn't! Instincts FTW!
Anyways, I also started 5-0 at my Regionals, and ended up losing in SUDDEN DEATH in the top 16 to the 15th seed. I feel for you, though. That was completely uncalled for and he/she should be punished.

... They DQed for that? That's really harsh... We had a game loss in the first round of the T4 in the Seniors for somebody playing with 57 cards (and the desklist only had 59). Granted, having fewer cards is not an advantage AT ALL and having an extra could potentially be an advantage. But even at that, it does say it has to have clearly been a "significant" advantage to warrent a DQ.

Anyways, back on topic, I'll not speak out on the replace the cards thing, but instead on this (apparently new) policy that deck checks on EVERYBODY before the tournament even starts are optional. We didn't do them here at the Western Canada ones either (my appeals fell on deaf ears :frown: ), and our 59-card decklist would have been avoided had they been done.

I realize that they can take a LONG time to do, but they really had darn well better do them on everybody at Nationals (all of them).

That sucks bud. That kind of stuff is exactly the reason why I haven't played in anything this year. Inconsistent judging, everything is different at every event. You can be at the same tournament and have 3 different judges rule 3 different things on the same question, you can have one person next to you told their sleeves are legal, but yours aren't and you're using the same exact sleeves. There's a lot on the line at these type of events and quite honestly I just got tired of having people call the incorrect time, pull some sleeve nazi crap. Last year I found deck registration and sign ups at nationals and a lot of events more stressful than top cuts. It's no fun when you go into a tournament thinking "If I can just get past deck checks and bad rulings, I might have a chance".

I completely feel your pain.

Good job tho on the tournament, sounds like you did pretty good.

ew, what on earth was that kind of ruling? If you had english ones to replace them, I don't see why you couldn't just replace them. Sorry about the terrible judging =(

So, its the Judge's fault the kid played with sleeves that could be seen thru and the japanese backs could be seen? :nonono: It is ALWAYS the PLAYER'S responsibility to have a correct deck list, properly filled out with 60 cards, proper sleeves and card dex refs/outside refs for foriegn cards. Maybe some folks need to read the tourney rules again :/

Keith

Then again, the judges should have caught the sleeve problem in the beginning with deck checks.
