how long to hatch the bad egg on pokemon r/s?

I was searching for pokemon when the bad egg appeared. Also when I caught it the pokedex said that I caught Treecko and it sounded like a bulbasaur when it appeared.
 
Its like the new missingno. So far I've heard of it appearing at the edge of the water right before Slateport, and on route 114
 
okay, thats GOT to be spam.

Missingno made my pokémon red battery completely useless; It can't save anything, not even the options menu XDXDXD

Anyway, I'm going to try surfing on the edge of staleport, gonna take a savestate of it hatching to see what happens without screwing up my sapphire (gonna do it on ruby!!! LOL)
 
If I remember well enough, Bad Eggs are glitches that are obtained usually by using a cheat device. I haven't experienced getting a Bad Egg in my game normally since the Japanese release of Ruby/Sapphire. I tested out the Bad Egg code. Basically what happens is that no Pokémon even hatches from it. The game locks up before the Egg completely hatches and stays frozen. It's best to ditch the egg since it's pointless thinking you'll get a Kanto or Johto region Pokémon that isn't obtainable normally in the game. It just won't happen. The game's programmed to not make those Pokémon appear in the wild or in the possesion of other NPC trainers. The only way you can get them, is by using a cheat device or waiting for Fire Red/Leaf Green to be released.
 
Well, I've got a savestate of it hatching, and I've fooled around with it a bit, and got it to bypass the line that was skipped (thus the dead hatch). This is what came up, after 12 Tries:

Pokémon Name: (7 random lowercase letters)

Type: Ghost/Poison

Possible Moves suggest that the pokémon is infact gastly. some moves include Night Shade, Lick, and Mean Look.

Because there is no sprite assigned to the pokémon, the display is an egg, however, when it is in the active position, no image is displayed.

The pokémon also evolves at level 33, possibly eariler, but sience it is not obtainable and the game does not breed it (no gender is assigned), and if I can get a second game pack with the hacked image, I can test the gastly theory.
