Hi Tina,
thanks for the note but you've really confused me even more. I want to learn how to do this too, plus, I really want to learn how you made the link where you say "here is a picture I made that may help." I tried doing waht you explained but I got nowhere. I'm so computer illiterate it's not funny. I want to make a link to photos too and am clueless on that.

Can you explain again using simpler words? (boy, I feel silly).

Step 1: Get Some Text: this will be the text you use to be the link.

[Example Text] <- (YOU TYPED THIS)

Step Two: get a link URL you want to link the text to
like this thread is http://pokegym.net/forums/showthread.php?t=68809.
you can find this in the URL bar at the top.

To select it you click on it and press Control ans A at the Same time
This should highlight the URL.

Step 3: Copy the url with control and C at the same time (Copy)

Step 4 Highlight the Text you typed before
and press the little Earth with the link on it.

ExMAPLE TEXT << highlight it

Step 5: a box pops up and paste the url in that box (use control v) //paste

ExMAPLE TEXT

then press ok and you are done.

Really easy to understand instructions (I think...):

  1. Select the text that you want to link to with the cursor (so it is dark blue highlighed)
  2. Now hit the little button with an Earth on it, found in the toolbar above where you type
  3. Now paste the website address you want that selected text to link to (this goes in the little window that popped up after hitting the Earth button) make sure you delete the words "http://" that show up in the box by default.
  4. Hit OK

The you go. Hope that helped.

So here is my first attempt to link, if it works this is what i did.

http://http://pokegym.net/gallery/browseimages.php?do=member&imageuser=12066
I went to the page I wanted to link to, clicked in my webbrouser address line which automatically highlighted the address, right clicked, chose copy, then I came to this reply dialog box, clicked on the insert hyperlink button, right clicked, chose paste. The above was the result.

This is a different way to link to a picture I already have uploaded here in the pokegym gallery.
http://<img src="http://pokegym.net/gallery/displayimage.php?imageid=33374" alt="Pinewood Derby" />
This time I went to the picture, copied the img tag code, clicked on the insert hyperlink button, right clicked, chose paste.

so now I am going to submit this reply and see what happens

-----------
edit: It doesn't work, I got a message that said "Intranet settings are now turned off by default. Intranet settings are less secure than Internet settings"

I'm going to try one more thing and then I give up

Thanks for all your help but I'm helpless at the moment. You see, the above link at least has a different name but I've tried 4 times to get something to show up and it's not working. I'll try again later.

my latest try

maybe this will work
The only problem with your link is that you never deleted the first appearing letters http:// (in the little window that comes up after clicking the link/Earth button. Since http:// shows up twice in your link, the link will not work. You can only have the letters http:// once in the beginning.
