How to run Gengar?

How would you run your Gengar? I want to try out a 2-1-2 line of Nidoqueen with 1-1 Metagross and 1 Relicanth but that seem like a lot of pokemon. But what's your opinion about this?

You can't realistically use the SV Gross unless you run 4x SSU and hope to hit heads a ton.

Fainting Spell gets too easy to play around if you don't run Queen.

Why do you need SSU with SV Metagross? Is it to prevent the ko when Gengar has low HP?

Just dont play metagross

Crobat and/or cress are better than gross

Metagross is so overrated. Nidoqueen and, well, a lot of things top it for a spot in Gengar.
