Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

I feel like quitting Pokemon.

Well, I went on the league locator and found another league not too far from where I live. I'll be checking it out sometime. I'm hoping it is good, because it is my last hope.

Even if you're through with this season, DP6 looks phenomenal. I'd urge you to give it another go whenever that set comes out (four months from now, I think).

why does it have to be either/or?

take a break, if you feel you have to. that doesn't mean sell everything; hold on to what you have until you're more clear on what you want to do.

good luck.

I agree with `Mom here. Trust me...you`ll miss the game and everyone.

Hey guys, I don't know what to do. Pokemon has gotten very boring, same old decks over and over. I have no more league to go to, and all my friends from the old league don't go to tournaments anymore. So I'm considering quitting since it isn't fun anymore, but for some reason I'm very sad about doing so. I was just thinking about selling everything and moving on. It is such a confusing and tough choice. But I bet I'll regret it in the future, so what do you guys think I should do. I know that there are many of you out there that have quit before and comeback or never come back.

Get new friends.

Just play apprentice and go to tournaments. I never had a league and only had 1 person who lived 15 minutes away from me to play pokemon with for my FIRST 2 years and it was perfectly fine.

Don't think of quitting=stop playing. You can stop playing without quitting. If you're tired of tournaments for right now, then don't go. Doesn't mean you're quitting.

Ryan is right. I will probably grow out of Pokemon eventually. Doesn't mean I'm quitting it. Even if you stop playing, or take a break, doesn't mean your quitting. You can still be a diehard Pokemon fan, it doesn't mean you have to be as much into the game as possible.

I know the felling. Saddly I have to take a brake from pokemon for a while because my husband is moving out of stae for a job, and I will be the only one around to take care of my children with out my husband for the time being. I agree that you should at first take a brake from pokmeon and give time to get some intrest back.

I have taken breaks from the game before and it is really refreshing. Try not playing for a year and then come back. You will be amazed at how exciting it is to come back and find a whole new meta game waiting for you.

Everyone elses "i am quitting. t_t" threads get closed. Why is this one different?

One set of rules for one group, another set for everyone else? :nonono:
*shrugs* if you don't see the difference between a 'zomg, i haet teh game now it sux n i quit!!!11' thread and 'i'm not sure what to do, my friends don't play anymore and i don't have a league to go to either...what would you do?' thread...then go ahead, call it what you like...=/

Mew*, did you end up going to Reg's? Definitely would have been a great idea if you choose to take a break.

I do not recommend straight dropping it... at all... I dropped for a year and had to pay like 60 bucks to pay for the cards online since I couldn't trade with my old format cards.... pain and agony...

It was for a cheap(but good) Banette deck, who knows how much a decent deck will cost a year from now...

Looks like my original prophecy's more or less true... nobody else has really said "well, if you want to quit wholesale so much, then just quit and sell everything." I question the worth of such overwhelmingly one-sided advice.

don't quit. u might regret quitting sooner or later, but i am with u on eveyone using almost the same deck. yesterday at regionals, everyone but one person at lest used a gardy/gally/both. and the person that didn't use it i beat so bad, he was screwed t4.

Imo, if you take a break you drop out of the competive nature.

lately pokemon has been very boring for me, though i do have a legue 20 minutes walk from my house. but word that nats was at the end of next month sort up shot me up the ****** and then i suddenly sparked up and got building and thinking, and since those 2 days ago, i'm lookin forward to the nationals.

maybe you couldstart your own league?

if your not quite sure, do not make rash decisions. contemplate the pros. and cons. in a full picture, and rationally.

i believe you just may need to be looking forward to the next big tourney.

good luck

i will play nats and worlds simply for the money involved, but this format has completely destroyed all the fun and skill in pokemon. no matter who you are, you can buy a gardy/gallade deck/list and do well at a tournament. every deck plays itself and there are no skillful combos (like destiny/absolutions last year.) also, having broken, high hp pokemon that do a billion damage and broken attacks is ridiculous. games are so slow and pretty much whoever gets the best start wins.
this is a terrrrrrible format, and other than money, i have no desire to play or practice this game any longer. hopefully the next 2 sets are AMAZING and change this game for the better, but it doesn't really look like it.

That the same way I feel. I stay up all night trying to perfect my deck and play all of the netdecks that people rather play instead of making one up. If I was a T.O. I would say in my tournaments that you could not use those deck. Its the same problem in the Pokemon games too. People rather use what everyone else is using and it makes the game boring because if people aren't even going to try to play with their own ideas, why play. I might start playing Yu-gi-oh for a while since I still have my deck.
