Explain this statement, made by Carton in the book A Tale of Two Cities:

"It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known."
Be specific. Use passages from the book to support your answer.

God i need to write a short essay on this, super short like mini essay, two paragraphs, but I;ve never read this damn book. I need to do it by 8 oclock pacific or I don't walk at my graduation. Someone please help?!?!?!

should't you have read the book? Seems like a good place to start.

I haven't read it, so I can't help you. Sorry.

Haha its a long story. Its an online class and I just got surprised that I had to have my essays in by 8 out of nowhere by my principal or i wouldn't walk. I was planning on taking my time tonight but that s out of the question now...

I couldn't have faked it, its turned in to a company and they personally read every essay response question and know exactly what to look for.... but its ok, I found a study guide for the site (haha, ain't technology great?) and was able to more or less come up with the whole thing in about twenty minutes. Pretty decent job too. Finished with 15 minutes to spare.

That's not even an essay of any description. It's just... two paragraphs.

Anyway, asking on a forum for how to do your homework, then admitting to faking it with a study guide is about as low as you can go. I hope you get a bad grade on it.

you'd better hope they don't run their essays through one of the online plagiarism sites...which seems to be pretty much SOP now days...

i think the statement is saying it is better if you do something then if you just know how to do it.

Use examples from the book since I have never read it.

I'm getting that he used a site like cliffs notes. Which is not cheating in my book. If he was told to write something on a book he hasn't read, then Cliffs Notes are one of the best things to use. Granted, I reccomend using them with a book that you are currently reading, because that makes them the most effective, but I see nothing wrong with using them to help.

Cliff's Notes teaches you absolutely nothing. It's like... winning a game of Magic with a combo deck you didn't build yourself and a memorized order of what cards to play in what order to win (I would've used Pokémon as an example, but "combo deck wut?").
