The first of the Utah players have arrived. 2 Juniors, 3 Seniors and 1 Judge. I'm sure it is going to be even more fun than last year thanks to all the great Idaho players and staff.

Reporting in for the rest of the gang who got here 4 hours later than the first group!

Current record 1-1
First Opponent: Big Jud. 20/80 Win Ratio. Was defeated swiftly.
Second Opponent: Swimming Pool. 95/5 Win Ratio. Easily won.

So now I wait for the tie-breaker tomorrow. We shall see!

T-Dawg - Yep, Never thought an SP deack would have such a bad start.......Thanks for letting me win.

I'll leave it to the players who were in their matches to report on those, but for my part I can say that this was the largest tournament we've now had in Idaho for State Championships! Registration got off to a great start with a healthy mix of players all throughout the registration process. Utah made a terrific showing, with Idaho bringing in even more players than last year for a total of 79 for the event! Breakdown from memory was 21 Juniors, ~26 Seniors and ~32 Masters.

We got off to a great start with no problems. Rounds progressed nicely and we had tons of fun with randoms, courtesy of Jim and even a couple media journalists later on! It was great to see an even mix of players in the top ranks of each division. And while many expected decks did make their appearance, we saw a lot of great rogue decks that were able to hold their own in the format.

All in all a completely fun event!!

Igor returned to defend Idaho's 1st place title for them in Masters (until next year)
Justin took a well-earned 2nd place. Amazing play and great strategy.

Brandon also managed to hold 1st place in Seniors.
Kyle returned for 2nd place.

Drake managed to take 1st place in Juniors.
Zach was hot on his tail at 2nd place.

Utah's State Championship is next week and we're looking forward to reuniting with a lot of Idaho's best for round 2 :)

Thank you to all you great pokemon players that played in the Idaho Championships 2010. You guys showed great spirit of the game and it was great to see all the friendships that have developed over the last few years between the Utah players and the Idaho players. All of you guys are what make me love this game so much.
