If Our World Instantly Became A World Full Of Pokemon...

1. How long do you honestly believe our society, etc would last before it became pure chaos? Why?

2. Which Pokemon(s) would be the most sought after for protection or to be the best partners to use in a world full of Pokemon.

ex: no one would think to use a Dunsparce as a reliable partner in such realistic and drastic conditions.

I honestly feel that our world.. full of sick and disturbed people.. as well as evil-minded individuals, would easily corrupt Pokemon and their abilities, and our society would be destroyed in a matter of weeks, maybe days. Whether it's on purpose or on accident, a lot of people wouldn't know how to handle Pokemon and their potential, so countless things would be destroyed and lead to chain reactions full of disaster and despair.

If I had to choose a few possible Pokemon that would be a reliable partner in mostly any situation, I would definitely ignore the grass types and bug types..

I would probably lean towards a Psychic type that can use telekinesis, etc to control the surroundings; like a Reuniclus or a Alakazam. Since we all know in the anime, Psychics seem ridiculously powerful and can control many aspects. Or I would go a more dominant role and make sure my partner is more awesome than the competition, and can hold it's own.. so something like a Salamence or Lucario.

Legendaries are not really part of the Pokemon choice equation.. as we need to take into consideration there is only suppose to be only a few of each, or even just 1. [just go with it..] So yes.. you can discuss the possibility of people trying to catch them and abuse their universally powerful potential.

Thoughts? Would our society be able to withstand such creatures?

No a lot of pokemon using power packed attacks like hyper beam and giga impact destroying building and stuff.
Id think most armies would become more cheap to make making any country a powerful one.
charizard is the pokemon I would pick for warm fire to cook magikarp in and to fly me around as an escape pod if any bad people came.

Well, as a starter pokemon, I would pick Zorua because its stats are pretty good for a basic pokemon, and it holds immunity against psychic moves, can use strength, cut, dig, and when it evolves, it has a mean SpAtk stat, can use flamethrower to cook food, and ca learn powerful attacks such as focus blast. Plus, like dogs and most other canines, they are extremely loyal. And if I need to escape, hello illusion.

I would choose Hydreigon. It gets immunity to Psychic, has amazing SP. ATK and Speed, gets access to tons of different moves (Flamethrower, Surf, Focus Blast, Flash Cannon, Dragon Pulse, Dark Pulse, Earth Power, Fly, ect.) It hits hard and fast. Leafeon would be my second choice, since, well, it is Leafeon.

For pets... Maybe Pachirisu or Sneasel or maybe a Mew if they were easy to litter train. A Jirachi would probably be nice as well, as you would never have to want for anything. You could just wish it. I couldn't do one of the big Pokemon. Could you imagine the pooper-scooper you would need to take care of that? It would probably say CAT on the side of it...

However, a Liepard hide rug and some Donphan skin boots would be a must! I'd probably have a Minccino or Biidoof farm, because I'm sure their fur coats would top a lot of want lists. Hunting Unfeasant and reeling in the Basculin and Sharpedo would probably be enjoyable as well.

I wouldn't be so concerned that society would change much other than that. It would be kinda like how it is in Texas, everyone knows that everyone else is carrying a loaded Pokemon, so they think twice before they attack with the one they're packing.

@Dweaver: Bidoof is the man, yet you would have a Dragonite?

The level of imagination this question provocs is far beyond what my mind can handle this early in the day........ I'll reply after I feed my Salamance.......

Bidoof would be my pet at home, where as Dragonite I would take on my adventure.

Just be sure to not partner up with a Pokemon the government bans or illegalizes. You would end up in jail for 20 yrs for having weapons of mass destruction in a Tyranitar.

^But, I use T-tar to do demolition work for my business :(
Electode on the other hand, now that is something to be concerned with.

Charizard's awesome, but maybe not so practical. There's water near almost everywhere I am, so a Charizard's probably not the best choice...

Gyarados, Lucario or Hydreigon, though...

Would have to go with Squirtle as a starter.

Also, it the world is Pokemon, then death would be harder to accomplish (see Team Rocket). Being electrocuted by a Pikachu or flamed by Charizard will not kill you.

I think I would get a small, small Pokemon like Diglet as a pet. I really do not want to carry around 50 gallon size trash bags to scoop when taking larger Pokemon for walks............ (such as Snorlax)

Diglet- finally able to see what it really looks like!

Litwick probably would have to be, uh, contained. See Pokedex entry...

That is the number one reason that I would have a dark type, as ghosts and psychics are weak to dark attacks.
Not to mention all the other creepy pokedex entries...

I can't even begin to imagine the size of Snorlax poop...

Eevee would totally be my starter. Outcomes are unpredictable, depends on whether people want to totally abuse the idea or just go ahead and have fun with it. Depends, but with today, I think you'd want Pokemon to know the difference between good and bad.... :p
And then we start poaching. Dun dun dun.

Ok so if we are talking about a happy world id choose Flareon its cute, fluffy, and its small
flareon could get the fire place going then we would cook magikarp and frozen oran berry pizza
Look how much food would change miltank steak, a nice warturtle soup I mean the options are endless
anyone want to find some more dishes of pokemon.

Id have Vaporeon, Pidgeot, legendary birds, zangoose. My main team. I would also own a buch of eeveelution and other bird pokes. I dont think the world would be ready for them though. Our world is nowhere as tame as the pokemon world.

Imagine animals that were worshipped as gods for their power, like Kyogre who can flood the world, for example. That would be pretty scary.

Also, some idiot would take Dialga or Celebi, and create a time paradox. That wouldn't be fun either.

So yeah, I'll take my dogs and cats over Pokemon in a world where soul burning monsters (Chandelure) are given to 10 year old kids any day.
