If you could only keep one card...

If you could only keep one card in your collection which one would you choose? And why?
I would make up a fun backstory like your house is on :fire: or you are selling your whole collection  buuuuut.... I think the idea is the same no matter the circumstances.
It could be the most valuable, sentimental, rare, or just your favorite. I just want to hear what card and why it would be important for you to keep that card.
Have fun! :thumb:

My uncut unreleased 1st Edition Metal Energy Jumbo because it's the only unique card I own, and it's amazing.

I still have my base venusaur that I pulled out of my first pack when pokemon came out in US so I would keep it no mater what. unfortunately I didn't discover pokemon until unlimited was being printed.

The card I would keep would be my Lucario Lv. X. it was the first ever Ultra Rare that I ever pulled, and I pulled it out of packs my brother gave me.

The Happy Birthday Pikachu I got through a WOTC giveaway. Too many great nemories if talking to Pokefriends about getting it in the mail when I wasn't expecting it at all.

These are all great answers!
Mine would have to be my Imakuni's Doduo. I bought a single Japanese Gym 2 booster pack (my first one from that set) from a card store and pulled it. I had no idea what it was at the time and didn't know that a white star meant ultra rare. Well I ended up trading it to a good friend who had a bunch of awesome cards. Only a day or so later I picked up an issue of Beckett and saw that the Doduo was worth more than any card in the set! I felt kind of stupid for trading it without taking the time to figure out what it was. So I ended up asking my friend if we could trade back and he was okay with it. After I was done with Pokemon cards I only kept a few cards among them were Cool Porygon, some of the Nintendo Power exclusive promos, and Imakuni's Doduo.

For me, it would have to be my Bubble Mew promo (from the Japanese CD with 10 promo cards). Many, many years ago when I was a kid, my grandparents started going to Florida for two months every winter. The first winter they did, I remember talking to my grandfather on the phone. He said that he had found a store in Florida that sold individual Pokemon cards, and asked me if there was any specific card that I was looking for. At the time, I had been looking through a price guide magazine that I had (Beckett, maybe?), and one of the pictures in the magazine was of the Bubble Mew promo. I absolutely loved it, and dreamed about having it. I mentioned that, figuring that there was no chance this random store in Florida would have it. I also mentioned a Base Raichu, which was the last card I needed to complete my base set. A few weeks later, my grandparents returned, and my dear, sweet grandfather presented me with the Bubble Mew and a Base Raichu.

I miss that man more than anything. :frown: He was the one who bought me my first Pokemon game - Pokemon Red. And the number of booster packs he bought for me over the years - simply crazy, haha.

I keep a couple of my more valuable cards in extra-nice top loaders on a special display shelf in my bedroom at my parents' house. The Bubble Mew is up there. Price-wise, it's not worth very much. But sentimentally, it's priceless.

My 2009 No. 2 Trainer.

Not worth as much as the No. 1, but it was won by my good friend David Cohen, and passed through another collector friend before reaching me, so I enjoy that one.

If I could save a group of cards then my Sample Set, since they were a gift from someone I really care about.

Although, if my house was on fire, they're all in a fire proof safe anyway =P

You're making me choose between Base Set Shadowless Mewtwo or Base Set First Edition Shadowless Alakazam.

Not nice.

^^I'll make it easy. Pick the 1st Edition Alakazam. lol

I'd have to take an entire set with me... Our near complete '99-'00 Fossil set. I'm sure Funmonkey would not be happy if those cards burned in a fire! Haha.

For a single card...I guess I'd take my Japanese Shining Raichu. :3
