2) Rock was a reference to the Moon Stone, the thing that evolves Clefairy
3) Green Cards are used by aliens, and Clefairy was believed to be an alien a few times.

I knew it, that was bugging me at work all night... Once i figged the first clue, I was figuring out the other, sorta, the 3rd one was the toughest.....
