Well Jumpluff for one, Your article is entitled Impact Cornor not "whats good". Weather or not Jumpluff is good is irrelavant the bottomline is that it got a lot of hype before and after the sets release. Therefore it will see play thus having an impact.
^^^
To the whole Poke Ball thing, if you read the statement, it's kind of dripping with sarcasm. That's my way
of saying, 'thanks for keeping this card in the rotation....again....' since Poke Ball really isn't taht good.
I'll be sure to mark my next artcile with something like <------ SARCASM. Sorry, I do like to have fun
writing these...I suppose since it's a site-wide article, I should be a tad more on point.
As for jumpluff:
I guess it just didn't get very much hype where I'm from. But then again, we have a rotation of only about
50 players here, so it's not exactly fishing for info out of the pacific Ocean.
In general, things in this game are impactful because they are good, not because they are hyped. I can
remember Amphytrick getting a lot of hype, but I don't remember anyone winning anyting with it. And in the
end, that's all that matters in what is impactful.
The real bottom line is:
I'd much rather go back and forth on the discussion of each card, rather than the general relavance of how 'on
point' each of my statements where in the artcle...that's a waste of time, can we focus on the cards for the
rest of the thread?
Anwyay, to the cards:
I love Oaks Theory! Rowan's, Cynthia's, Oak's Visit, Looker's...it's not that this card is the greatest ever
released, it's that it's another option to tailor a certain type of deck. What kind of deck would use New Theory
in particular? Who knows. But the point is, Decks with Pokedrawers probobly should use Rowan, people heavy
on level max should use Oaks Visit, people who's pokemon get KOed easy should use Cynthia's, people who
need to know their opponenets hand should use Lookers. It's just another option, and I love it!
I'm really inerested to see how that Flygon combo turns out. I'l lhave to give it a try before I throw it out the
window. But again, with all the speed in the format, it's a slow tech. It COULD work, particularly in a long
battle when u need every advantage. I'll get back to you after I've seen it in action.
Oh, and copycat. It's a good card, certainly another I was on the fence about. But claydol is easily one of the most
popular decks in the format. With the Claydol tech, I try to end my turn with as few cards in my hand as possible, and
then play as many before using cosmic power the next turn. In general, during my opponent's turn, I'm trying to have
my hand low, which hurts copycat. With so many shuppet and other 'high hand count' decks in the format, this card
could be the supporter of choice. But I think the shuppet is kind of comparrable to the AMU, it's complicated, requires
a billion trainers, and just isn't that easy to build perfectly...so you'll only be facing it on a rare occasion. The other decks
just don't consistantly end up with enough in their hands to ensure that this is consistantly more affective than the other
draw trainers IMO. Again, it's situation based on your area's metagame, and the importance of the role the other draw
supporters play in your deck.
