I tried breeding my male shining golbat with a female swablu to get a shining swablu and after 84 hatched eggs, i gave up, is it possible to get a shining in breeding?

Yes it is, you may get it on your first try, you may try for 300 hours and never get one. It is completely random, heh just by having a shinning swablu and golbat consider yourself lucky. I've been playing for 200+ hours now and have NEVER ran into a shiney, despite hundreds of eggs, and thousands of poke battles ^_^

I completely agree! My only shiny in any of the games was and Odd Egg Igglybuff!

i want Iggly..... anyways, I asked this aloooong time ago, in the old WIZPOG and found out that in RuSa the odds of hatching a Shiney egg, eith or without a shiney parent are exactly the same as catching one in the wild. Dont remember the exact odds..... but they are high. On the plus side, it is extremely lower than GSC games. It took me over 600 hours on Silver before I ran into a shiney Drowzee, but within 60 hours of finding/catching him, I caught a shiney Ledyba, with just over 700 hours logged. Not to brag to much, but I did find a shiney Numel withen 60 hours of play on Saphire. But with over 270 hours now, and 90+ on Ruby havent found anything else.... Also have 3 boxes of Numels (was 5, but traded and deleted several already) trying to get a shiney male one (the one I caught was female unfortunately at the time). Thats when I found out it wasnt like the last game 1:64, I was sorely disappointed. At least everyone I know has a kewl Numel eg to show for it. =)

I need to know what breeding pair I need to get a treecho.I tried my Male sceptile and a female tropius, and got a lv5 tropius.what pairs do I use?

What does a shiny pokemon look like? is it bright in color? My igglybuff's color is real bright.

well, not to brag also, but i caught a shiny ralts in just the start of my ruby game! that was sheer luck, and having finished it, have not seen another one since... it's now a shiny gardevoir... haha... and to get a treecko, you'll need a female sceptile. the baby is always the mother.

to eleborate on what invisible said, when breeding Pokemon, movesets are determined by the Father, well mostly (in this case Sceptile) and the species is determined by the mother, always (in this case Tropius). So you will always get a lvl 5 Tropius, with any moves that are compatible from the Sceptile (if there where any.) To get a baby treecko, you would need to breed with a Female Treecko or evolution....

I agree too! I tried for the longest time to get a Shiny Eevee with a Shiny Ditto with the Red Gyarados trick. So I have a 1/64 chance. I hatch egg after egg after egg. It seems impossible, but at the same time I know it is possible.

You must be new to breeding, so I will explain it. You have to have a Female Treecko/Grovylle/Sceptile in order to breed. The egg will always be the same pokemon that the female breeder was. You can use any male pokemon from the female's egg group to breed with. You can find all of the egg groups here.

I'm not to new to breeding,I just wasn't sure,so I ended up with a LV5 tropius with Gust,Cut,and something else, which isn't bad.How do I get a female breed of treecho? are they all female? Say you have a male treecho, can it evolve into a female Grovylle? I don't quite understand, am I missing something here. You can't catch treecho in the wild because it is given to you as your starter. Can he be given as a female or male?
Thanks though for helping me understand about treecho and tropius breeding:)

The odds of Treecko (not Treecho) being ♀ (as well as the other starter Pokémon) is only a mere 12.5%. Odds are you'd have to reset several times before getting your starter Pokémon (of course, save your game before you pick one) to be ♀.

I was lucky, though. In my Sapphire Version, I got my Treecko to be female on the first go.

in my G/S/C games, out of all of them, the ONLY shiny I ever got was Red Gyarados >_< I used a gameshark on my gold (which is my experimental version) and managed to catch a hoothoot and nidoran... and that's it.

so far on Ruby, absolutely nothing.

YAY, I caght a Shiney Wismur on Ruby yesterday. With just around 93 hours logged. So now I have caught 1 on each version.

Heres a question, has anyone gotten a Shiney Pokemon and a Pokemon with Pokerus in the same game? Everyone I have heard from has one or the other (or neither), but I have yet to here of anyone finding both. Only reason I have Pokerus is cause a friend traded it to me....

Yeah, As I recall, the odds of a Female starter are about 12% (1/8ish), but the odds of getting a Shiny (any type) is about 1/65000, pretty much the chance of getting a MasterBall in the Lilycove Lottery (RuSa versions) if you haven't traded with anyone, or of getting Mirage Island. I think that's right, but I could be wrong. If you know, please feel free to correct me.

No, a non-shiny will never evolve into a shiny, but by that same token a shiny will always evolve into a shiny.

To find a shiny poochyena, search in the grass where wild poochyena's are. You have a one in 65335 chance, so don't hold your breath.

where would you find a sparkling poocheyena
