Maybe. Empoleon is huge right now, (well, less than GG), so that limits the ability to do well. Kingdra will also be pesky for a return to Ape's hight. However, the release of IFDS will greatly boost Grass, and thus make people counter it with Fire. The new IFDS Infernape is also decent, so it could see play after November.
 
Infernape may get played, but I don't think the Lv X will see as much play since you needed delcatty for it to work well
 
I don't play ape with catty and it can be just as good with out it. The only problem is the loss of scramble. DRE isn't missed as much but the amazing comeback power with scramble is really important.
 
Rotom would help as well, load up a benched, then be able to do 120-160 easy.

Typhlosion might help for constant recharging of Apes, but that counters the Lv X strategy.
 
Maybe. It will be hard for Infernape decks to hang around in the metagame(current and next) due to the large amount of water decks around. Currently, is Empoleon decks. Next format, Kingdra will join the metagame...
