Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Intriguing Question

Can be attached as an energy during your opponent's attack too, rather then only during your attack

There is a LOT of erratas that SW'll need (compared to previous sets). ._." What's up with that, indeed...

Ironically, this came up at league today when Anthoy knocked out an Electrode and told his opponent it didnt work. Yeah, if his attack only works when he knocks himself out, then he will be even more wothless than... SW Muk.

pui fired all of their translators to compensate for the money spent in hawaii. i hope electrode is errated. its the bomb!

Yep. I would acctually make a deck with it, with something like LPS to keep it alive, and then Let my Opponet KO it.
In unlimited that is.

Correct about Low Pressure System. There presently remains no way for Electrode to avoid killing itself via it's attack (should you do the extra damage). This means you're always exchanging prizes with your opponent should you attack with it.

Though if Electrode was able to attach itself after an opponent's attack (Japan's FAQ for the DP3 set confirms you can do this, IIRC), then you'd at least be able to use it as a wall while you charge up something worthwhile like a Flygon. :/

Looking through the compendium shows no Secret Wonders rulings yet, so... Looks like we're waiting for the next Compendium meeting to address the rather bizarre card effects (IE: Cloyster SW has caused LOADS of confusion with how exactly to handle Pluspowers and DREs on it)

^The DRE issue came up at leage today as well, our judge just guessed and said that both hits are at -10 damage, meaning you spread 20 instread of 30

SW also has a shorter time for PUI to work with (by about a month). The same work done in a shorter time will generally yield lesser results.

What about Cloyster is confuseing?

4 heads w/ DRE, 2 Plus Powers and A stregth charm attached. You choose the active twice and 2 benched.

Assuming there is NO OTHER EFFECTS THAT WILL REDUCE THE DAMAGE.....

Active takes 20+20+Plus Power+Plus Power+Stregth Charm -10 from DRE= 60
Each bench you choose takes -10 because of DRE, SO 20-10=10 to bench pokemon you choose

Duh

Cloyster: Flip four coins then treat it like it gets to attack as many times as you got heads. [del]For damage calculation treat each of the attacks as independant[/del], but don't remove and KOd Pokemon untill you have placed the damage from the last heads flp.

Electrode: Play as written (and ruled) for now. Fingers crossed on the errata. here http://pokegym.net/forums/showpost.php?p=975691&postcount=10 for more details.

[edit:Seems like the attacks aren't completey independant: It has been ruled that if you choose the same pokemon more than once then the damage is combined into a single attack upon that pokemon. So only one weakness, DRE, resistance etc.]
