How am I still in this? That thing was whipped up in about 10 seconds. My basic experience in U/C tourneys was that energy acceleration wins. So, I looked for the best energy accelerator (Eelektrik) and paired him with the highest damage producer I could find (Raichu). It's the reason I was asking about the Trainer Kit cards, the TK Raichu hits 2 for 100 instead of 3 for 100, slightly easier to set up. Didn't even THINK about the Cyrus engine, really. I didn't know how to work it effectively. I figured that 100 damage every single turn would be enough to make an opponent's life hell, so I went with that.

honestly bullados, your deck was refreshing, especially after many went with similar strategies. I probably would have built a bisharp deck as well, but I honestly thought that card was a rare (it was in the Japanese set, right?). so i went with seviper/tools instead, which was pretty obvious.

I don't know though, I've had a bit of an issue with this tournament where I felt at times that building a subpar deck was optimal so long as it "appeared" more creative. my list for the top 8 left out any bench-sitters simply because Pokemon catcher is still around. I really wanted to include porygon 2 in my deck, but why should I when it would just get pulled up and ohko'd? to those who included bench-sitters in their deck, no disrespect. maybe I'm just missing something? and to bullados, it's why I appreciated seeing a 4-4 line of the eel guy in your list.
