hey i was wondering if 2009 is a bad year with all the celebs? i mean death wise. first is farret fauset, second Mj, 3rd Billy mays 4th is patrick Swezies then finally mary travers.

what is going on??????

There's been quite a few more than what you listed. I don't think it's a bad year. A lot of people die every year, it's just what happens.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that so many big big names have gone this year. Albeit it was not much of a shock for Farrah Faucett, and Patrick Swayze, as they were both suffering from major types of cancer.

2008 was a big year too when you think about it.

Heath Ledger, Isaac Hayes, Bernie Mac, and many more.

Every year some famous people will pass. Some years there are just more than others.

Well it's been a bad year for THEM.

Farret Fauset? Really? Mix in Wikipedia, cut and paste their name. A little respect for the deceased like getting their name reasonably close to the correct spelling.

Why is it that people assign greater weight to the deaths of celebrities?

while i agree, it is logical that they mention celebrities, because not everyone has known every death. but how about the million's in poverty, or hungry, or getting killed in war. i would much rather have them mentioned then some of the celeb's mentioned.

Who cares? Many people that did FAR greater things in their lives have died, yet no one hears about them. IMO, if anything people should say something about those who actually DO something. Not some silly actors. :/

Celebs aren't just pretty faces for you to look at. They all donate to charity in one way or another. Just look at Bono, and all the money he's donated.

I think this is quite a silly thing to say when John Hughes and Ted Kennedy are being discussed.
