were do you live? ill come there and buy one

arizona, come by real soon. <33

spread is dead for the moment due to queen's popularity, though don't expect it to remain dead for very long.

*has noticed high demand for gallade x lately*

donks will remain for awhile, but like the passion in any relationship, it will eventually burn out.

Okay, two words, Mother Gengar

Another... few words for ya ;)

Dialga G Lv. X

Manectric spreads have a tough time, which is a shame 'cuz I love that card. Gallade 4 Lv. X and Ape 4 Lv. X can both make easy use of Dialga G Lv. X, and Obama doesn't suffer much from it (I'd gladly give up its Poke-Body to get around Queen any day).

This is of course assuming you're getting at Nidoqueen's part of the match-up... which is played in much more than just Gengar.

Spread is just a core strategy in this game that people will always pick up on, it's not going to die. People keep saying it will, but it doesn't.

I wish someone could actually define what a donk deck is. It seems like there are almost as many definitions of donk deck as there are players. Fashion currently has Machamp as a donk deck, so is it just fashion? Is a donk deck just a label determined by the crowd?

The Machamp donk is a 4 card combo that can only one hit KO some basics. The Kingdra Donk is another 4 card combo that can manage even fewer basics. Sableye looks like THE donk card yet there are very few complaints about Sableye.

Players will always seek out low cost strategies; a low cost strategy is usually a winning strategy. Low cost strategies are not going away anytime soon.

Upper Energy penalizes players for taking prizes too early. We missed a card like that all over the season, so the metagame got sick. It had Scramble Energy before, and even some cards like Rayquaza ex d. Until RR we didn't have any cards like that so players could get quick knockouts without thinking about the consequences. This is over now. Donk decks can still donk, but if the opponent has another basic, they risk a T2 Power Swing or even Psychic Lock.

Donks are still alive and kicking. Machamp won Nationals so that explains something.

With less Dialga G, Rampardos will be VERY strong because it can run through anything that tries to stop it.

in our country it seems almost all of us are tired of using OTKO decks removes the fun out of the game and most are trying out new decks

I don't really think donks are going anywhere. Machamp is still one of the top decks, and is probably what people think of when they think of donk decks right now.

I do hope that there is some kind of counter to Machamp/Gengar that comes out in a future set, just so that the donk probability can be reduced a bit, though.

Also, as far as defining donks...I've heard a lot of definitions too. I've always taken a donk deck to be one in which it sets up so fast that it's able to OHKO most basics, and can therefore end the game very quickly and by only drawing one prize. I dunno if this is how the term originally started though.

Donks are not going anywhere, and I do not like it. Even decks that are not meant to donk sometimes do. My son was eliminated from finals contention at nationals without even drawing a card by Far'Fetched. Opponent goes first, attaches to Far'fetched and flips 3 heads - GG (well, not really a game). My first donk was with Nidoqueen (in a Gengar deck, only a 1-0-1 Nidoq. line) against a lone Uxie! Sometimes they happen even when the deck is NOT designed to donk, and I think it really stinks that games can be won or lost without really being played out. Especially when you (or your opponent) does not even get a turn!!!!

Let's keep the distinction between donk decks (those that are designed to donk) and donks that just happen. The latter are bad enough, but the former are worse!
