It's almost Thanksgiving, again...

...so, what are you thankful for this year?

Let's keep this thread relatively serious, please...

This year, I am thankful...

...for my health, and the health of my loved ones.

...for my husband, sons and dog; my parents, siblings and extended family.

...that I continue to re-discover the Limitless Light of Amida's Wisdom and Compassion by accompanying a friend on their journey of discovery (thank you, Shaku Kyomei Hou :) ; "ondobo ondogyo", indeed...:) ); for spiderwebs and tomato hornworms...

...for good friends, both online and IRL...you all know who you are... :) ; thank you for being part of my life. I am very thankful that we are all indeed still here...

...to my dear friend,
DAC Crowellhttp://www.roughensemble.fsnet.co.uk/daccrowell.htm...veterans of the former incarnations of the 'gym may remember him as Lugia909...who gave me the opportunity get back into graphics work and create the public image for his Magnatune.com albums. Sing the song, because it must be sung, my friend...I'm so glad your music is getting the wider attention it so richly deserves!

...for good music, good books, and handcrafts: comforts that are always there.

...for this wonderful flight of imagination called "Pokémon"...there aren't many games that can be simple enough for a five year old to play and still be complex enough for two adults to spend an hour+ on a single game, going down to last prizes on both sides; there's something very special here, and I think we lose sight of that sometimes. Age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, nationality...all these things have been transcended by this 'silly' game and anime. It's all about the 'ties'...the ties we form with others through the medium of this game and/or the anime. I've made wonderful friends from throughout the world via this game...and probably some enemies, too. Some I've had the opportunity to meet in real life, others I've not...but the ties are still there, and our lives are richer for them, and they influence us more than one can ever imagine a 'silly' anime or 'childrens' game' ever could. I've seen AMAZING things happen through this game/anime...lives changed, lives turned around, true works of art created because of it's inspiration. People who started out as just names on a Pokemon message board are now friends I can't imagine not being part of my life...and I wouldn't trade ANY of it, the good and the bad...for anything.

...that our game has managed to survive the transition, in many ways better than ever; for the wonderful community of players, judges and TOs here in So. California; for Dave, Mike, Jimmer and the rest of the folks at POP/PUI..

...for my cable connection, without which I would not be here ;)

...for eBay (and PayPal), source of all good things Pokemon, like Japanese CDs and DVDs ;)

...for the best source of entertainment on the 'net: the San Diego Zoo's PandaCam. Watch Bai Yun and her now 15 month old male cub, 24/7...

...for Salon and Air America radio

...that the 'gym continues in its latest incarnation :)

Best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving...

'mom :)

My health, my welfare, my Bs, and the fact that I'm in Purdue (hopefully that'll get my parents off my back).

Also, my life is without meaning without this game, and I must thank the people over at Nintendo for creating it, Wizards for making it popular the first time, and PUI for reinventing the game as we know it today.

My friends, family, PSO clan, and the entire PTCG Chicago group

I'm also quite thankful for what has happened in the past few months, whether it was good or bad.

i am thankful for my parents who are very forgiving, all you here who helped me and traded with me, my local game area ''Land of Magic'', my best friends and everything else that has happened this year (good and those bad things i have learned a lesson about) (except school)

Oh, I forgot three more things I'm thankful for:

FREEDOM
THOUGHT
Alchohol

:fire:

I'm thankfull for:
The lives of Ken Sugimori and Satoshi Tajiri s if it weren't for them my life would be BOOOOOOOOOOOOORING.
That I have a great family.
That I have nice friends.
Pokemon.
My ability to speak an asian language, Korean.
To rebound on what baby*j said I am thankfull for girls.

Lets see... I am thankful for:

My new position as a Pokemon Professor.
Nintendo, for creating all of my favourite games, including Pokemon.
My parents, for driving me to all of the tournaments.
FBLA club at my school.
And any other things that I can't remember right now but appreciate.

I am thankful:

-For my health(barely lol)
-For my mom
-For a fun game(Pokemon)
-For a nice home
-For the chance to go to school after high school
-For my friends

You know, it took me a few moments to remember that we have Thanksgiving earlier than America does.

Really isn't anything specific that I'm thankful for. Generally, if I don't hate it, I'm thankful it exists.

Now that I really think about it, I'm thankful for pokemon. Because of it I have friends like The Anaconda and The Fish King. And because of the people they know, I met my girlfriend. So thank you pokemon!

In no particular order, the things I am insanely gracious for...

-My family. Cliche and oh so true. Between my sister out here at college with me and my mom/dad calling every week, I stay sane and realize how truly blessed I am to have such a great family. They manage to bring me up when I'm down, and ALWAYS let me know when I'm getting to high on myself.

-Friends, both old and new. The old friends specifically for how they have helped in molding me and my life. The new for being there for comfort, fun, and what not.

-Sports. Oh man... where would I be without sports? Between an unbeaten Arsenal run that lasted longer than the lines at Wal-Mart the day after Thanksgiving, a soccer team coming to Salt Lake, the Pacers/Pistons throwing NBA ratings through the roof, Ben Roethelisberger being the surprise of the season, the lesser of two Evil Empires winning the ALCS... I have so many reasons to keep going on in life. ;)

-Education. I am truly lucky to be able to attend college and mix minds with kids who are eager about learning and bettering themselves. I attend a University that has the lowest reported acohol consumption in the US and holds similar morals that I hold. I learn about all sorts of things on all sorts of levels. Amazing.

-Music. Man. Gotta love music. Moves me in so many ways.

-Generations after mine. That they keep the fun things in life going. (That's you guys!)

Let's see...
My friends, mostly at school who really make my long school days and hard school nights happy.
My parents for supporting me when I tell them to stop bugging me. ;)
Myself for having the attitude towards life to live happily although I could easily be depressed.
Simple pleasures like playing Pokemon TCG, internet, video games etc.

That pretty much sums it up. :)

... That I managed to find/start a league in my area.

... That I met some new friends over the summer via said league.

... That one of said friends will rent her upper floor to me once I move out of my really tiny apartment.

... That my parents continue to fund me during my inability to find a part-time job.

... That I won that sweepstakes a little while ago, which netted me a GBASP.

... And that life is, for the most part, good.
