IV Bragging/Inquiry Thread

M Super Luck Murkrow
Adamant: 31/31/14/31/31/31
Astonish, Brave Bird, Roost, Sucker Punch

F Rock Head Aron
Adamant: 31/31/30/2/27/31
Tackle, Head Smash, Curse, Earthquake

From my Japanese copy of HeartGold. Honchkrow gets Brave Bird as an egg move now. Second generation of inbreeding, after introducing a Staraptor to get Brave Bird, then swapping it out for another Murkrow hatched from it. Likewise, Aron now gets Head Smash and Curse via chain breeding Torterra to pass Curse to Cranidos, and the offspring to pass Head Smash and Curse to Aron. Still frustrated to not have gotten a Fly Pikachu from the Yellow Forest PokeWalker course, though this and my PokeWalker Surfing Pikachu (Naughty #25 Pikachu: 8 / 27 / 11 / 31 / 30 / 10) are comforting consolations.

The new move combos for HeartGold/SoulSilver are awesome. Getting Super Fang on Crobat, Pain Split for Igglybuff, and the many MANY new egg and tutor moves makes getting HeartGold/SoulSilver a nice addition to any competitive and casual player.

Unfortunately, i have to wait until it comes to the USA for me to play it.

Next up, Regice!

I have a few questions. I just started breeding an Empoleon out. I was lucky and started the game with a female piplup (they are 87.5% male:12.5% female). Here is what I did:

1. Bred with a floatzel with Agility as first move so that I would always inherit Agility as an egg move.
2. Bred until I got a modest female piplup.
3. Now breeding out until I get a nice pool of best base stat piplups (I've found 5 out of the 75 or so Piplups I hatched with 6/6/6/6/6/6 base stats) and will test them on wi-fi to see which have the best IV sets, and breed that male with my female right-natured piplup. I basically test out the new pokemon, always testing the females, and try to just keep pairing up better and better IVs?

Is this the best method of breeding? "Amidoinitrite?"

I want to get an Eevee next. They, too, are 1/8 female. My question is, should I keep resetting for a good natured/female eevee, or just get a female and start making eggs, or just get a female that has good IVs?

Here's a fun fact, every time the daycare man get's an egg, it's nature and gender is set before you get it, not the IVs. So what you could do is save before an egg, hatch it and check the Gender and Ability. If it's what you want, keep resetting that egg for the IVs you want, if it's not, go on. This way may take a little longer because you can't do IV battles, but it makes it so you get whatever you want.

I have a flying pikachu and a surfing pikachu thanks to a bunch of trades :thumb:
Still working on getting my own, as the problem I have with trading is not knowing if someone else is scamming me with an altered Pokemon. What was the moveset of the Fly Pikachu, and at what level was it encountered?

I don't think Lonely is an option for him and he likes Adamant.

But, unless you come across something that can really hurt him, go ahead.

meet Lucky. I was SRing Shaymin and I got bored seeing as I was getting bad IV's/natures so every once in a while I just threw a Luxury ball at shaymin before I master balled it, on the off chance I'd catch it. So alls normal, shaymin came up and I threw a luxury ball at it, and It caught it. "yay!" I think, if its a good nature I'll just keep it cause I'm tired of SRing. I look and its modest(I wanted a bold one, but whatever)! then I check the IV's and get these awesome ones!

Shaymin - #492 (Modest) (Luxury Ball)
HP: 28
Att: 20
Def: 27
SpA: 29
SpD: 30
Speed: 29

HP ghost 59

yay! :)

That's a nice group of IV's, but please tell me you didn't save after....
The Hidden Power would have to be Ice because you get the Speed IV of 31 (which is a good thing for the Uber tier battles) and SpAtk may need the extra boost, but I guess everything else is good....

Those are incredible IVs, why wouldn't he keep it? It's hard enough SRing for a Legendary without worrying about hidden power.

It's easier now to SR a Legendary now that there's the use of the RNG around.

But if he did save it, it matters not then.

thanks pika, I didn't RNG cause I've never caught a shiny :(

yeah I'm keeping it cause I don't like SRing lol

I just got this entei. Was trying to catch just *one* and it took me like 6 tries before I caught one. I had planned on SRing for one but I guess I didn`t need to o_O;; this guy`s gonna be a beast for battle.
