Well i guess half priced pokemon tins are the only light on pitch black friday.

So the TRU ad says 4.99 - 12.49, 50% off on YGO, Club Penguin and Pokemon. Now I'm not familiar with the pricing structures on YGO and Club Penguin, but I know that 4.99 and 12.49 are NOT 50% of what poke-tins usually sell for. Any idea what the actual TRU rate for poke-tins will be? Want to see if it is worth my time to stop by TRU on THURS. They also have some sweet deals on videogames that day. Buy one get one for $5 is what I heard. May only be select titles though.

If that's the case, then that's an exceptionally decent black friday deal: four boosters for $6.50.
It's not $4.99 AND $12.49, it's $4.99 THROUGH $12.49.
So half off a $19.99 tin is $9.99 (with half a cent left over) and that easily falls within the range.
There is a big special going on right now (Thanksgiving day only) at Walgreens. All toys regularly priced at $9.99 are $4.99, with a limit of 4 per customer. This includes their regularly priced $9.99 Pokemon tins.
I bought the Lucario tin today for $4.99. In addition to the foil card, there were 3 booster packs (2 from EX, and 1 from DP Legends Awakened). Which means that only one of the booster packs contained cards which are currently tournament legal. But there is a discussion of these tins at

and in some places the tins contain 3 boosters from Platinum sets, which are all tournament legal.
In any event, 3 booster packs for $4.99 means $1.66 per booster pack, which is about as good a deal as you are likely to see anywhere. If you want them, run out and get them quickly.

On the shelf there is no discount marked, but a salesperson confirmed to me that the sale was for all $9.99 toys, and when I took the tin to the checkout it scanned at $4.99. So yes, the ad is real, and it is in the system.

Black Friday Pokemon sales ???
So far for these usually amazing black friday sales I have only found 3 things that seem worth it ! Sure their are sales on other great things but I was specifically looking for pokemon stuff on extreme black friday sale! This is what I have found and if anybody else saw pokemon stuff for sale anywhere else or is different please post here... also if the items I have posted you found cheaper in an add please let me know so I can price match them at wal-mart if they have them!

and a tube of 4 pokemon figures for $9.99

I think only the Dog tins are worth it; $8 for 4 packs and a promo is about $2 a pack.
Games, they're probably not a bad deal as well (well, if they're the new ones like Guardian Signs, older ones I'm not so sure), though considering TCG it's not really relevant.
Booster packs alone aren't worth it; even with 50% off you'll still be paying a least $7 for 2 packs, which is a hefty amount and, juxtaposed with the tin, you're only getting about half of what you paid for in comparison.
