La at ToysrUs

I haven't seen any packs around but I saw the LA Card Binders for sale 3 weeks ago. It makes me wonder why the employee don't read the "Don't put on shelf untill XX day" writing on the box. Does anyone know if the boxes even say that?

In the packages the boxes come in is the contract stating that selling the product before the official release date will null and void the contract. I know some people that will sell league supplies at conventions instead of giving them out. I read the contract and it said that selling the product will result in the license being revoked.

The pictures have been uploaded in the Gallery under "Ledgends Awakened" heading should read Legends Just waiting for Moderator to approve them.

My mom mentioned to the cashier that these are to be on sale to the public on Aug 20th, he just shrugged his shoulders & said doesn't know anything out it.

Prereleases are the best way to go, better value. Ok that's my mom talking. $4.99 + tax = $5.24 per pack OUCH

Considering they aren't even out yet, I wouldn't be too bummed at the price.

I just got home from the TRU in Ontario, Canada. They had lots of LA packs in blisters as well as both starter decks for sale. Each starter deck has 1 Cynthia's Feeling in it, as well as the TS-1 Technical Machine and a Poke Radar. I did not buy any because their price is too high and we are having a pre release tomorrow afternoon!

If your getting the PCD just for Cynthia's don't. It turns out the article on pokebeach about cynthias being 1-2 per box is false, they are around the rarity of rare candy from GE perhaps better, i got 3 cynthias in my pre release packs

Your pre-release packs are too small of a sample size to make any claims about global rarity. In the 26 total packs that a friend and I opened today, there was not a single Cynthia's Feelings. I wouldn't say that this means they're non-existent, though.

From what I saw today, it looks like the claim on the 'Beach about Cynthia's is pretty close to right. Unfortunately, I think it might apply to all of the trainers in the set. The average is about one uncommon trainer per two packs. With six very playable trainers in this set (Cynthia's, Buck's, Evoluter, Energy Pickup, Snowpoint Temple, Poke Radar), I'm thinking that they'll all be in pretty short supply.

(For anybody keeping track at home, our 26 packs yielded 0 Cynthia, 1 Buck, 1 Evoluter, 2 Energy Pickup, 2 Snowpoint Temple, and 3 Poke Radar. Looks like you pretty much need to buy two boxes to get one playset of trainers.)

25$/8packs is better than you'll find most any place else.

T or F?

That's a horrible price IMO. Most of the shops near me sell DP and on packs for $2 each and decks for $8. But that's probably just my area.

The ratio on Cynthia's seems strange indeed. One girl at the pre-release I was judging at pulled two Cynthia's out of her 6 packs.(The 6 packs were from the same box)

Another strange thing at the pre-release I was at was the Lv.X ratio. There were 9 pulled.(Including the judge compensation) This is what they were.
Gliscor Lv.X
Rhyperior Lv.X x2
Azelf Lv.X x2
Uxie Lv.X
Mewtwo Lv.X x3
And no Misprit Lv.X or Magnezone Lv.X at all.

x1 Rhyperior Lv.X

x3 Mewtwo Lv.X's
x1 Gliscor Lv.X

Thank you for reminding me. There weren't any Magnezone pulled at my pre-release either. *Goes and edit's last post*
And there were only 22 people at mine, plus a sealed deck and draft. That's why there I didn't have many to list.

From what i can remember these were pulled that i saw:

2x Magnezone
2x Mesprit
4x Mewtwo
1x Uxie
1x Rhyperior
1x Azelf

There may have been more, those are just what i remember from people yelling about them when openening and walking around seeing people holding them

And as for the the trainers, they might be a screwed up random because from what you guys said compared to the 6 people at the table i was at, we had around 8+ cynthias, 6+ TM's, 2+ Radars, 4+ bucks, 6+ E Patch, like 1 snowpoint i think. Dunno it's odd

:eek:Woah, that is an amazing price!

On a store shelf, I have never even seen them that low!
What area do you live in?!

...we are talking, US dollars, right?

There seemed to be a lot of Lv.x in the boxes.

Me, 2 of my bros, and my dad went to a pre release today, and each of us got a Lv.x.

Saw a lot of others close by get Lv.x to...

Wait, why is this thread about prereleases?

Shouldn't it be solely about Toys R Us LA releases?

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but are you upset because they're following the rules? Big box stores respecting the release date protects our PTOs and the shops that host them. For someone who's passionate about the game, that's much more beneficial than being able to get your grubby little paws on the cards just a few days early. It's unfortunate that some stores aren't cooperating (I suspect because of incompetence, not malice), but I really do appreciate those who know the rules and are abiding by them.

I don't think secrets is annoyed with the fact they are following the rules, I think they were more annoyed at the rude response they got.

Yoyo, if you feel the topic is getting off topic, please report it and let us know. With that said..this topic should have nothing to do with prerelease attendance and whatnot. This is about LA being at TRU early. Keep it back on track please.

Since TRU where we are at are already selling LA, should the brick and mortar stores that have the pre-releases and other events be allowed to sell them now as well?
