Leeds City Championship Report

First and foremost, thanks to everyone who turned out... and to those who'd reserved places, but couldn't make it... we missed you. To those who were ill (throwing up), we're glad you stayed away in the nicest possible way!

So seriously, numbers were depleted largely due to illness, but still a great day and some spectacular games played. And great to have a contingent from Manchester League

15 Juniors, 7 Seniors and 9 Masters

Juniors:
1st Josef L. (Pixie Deck) 3 wins out of 4 up until the final
2nd Max G. (Heatran, Magmortar & Togekiss) undefeated until reaching the final
3rd Beth L.
4th Joe W.

Seniors:
1st Leon K. (Huge number of Pokemon... but core card was Ledyba / Ledian).... undefeated!
2nd Ben L-M (Drakrai, Heatran, Electivire & Deoxys) ....winning all but one game
As you can see seniors was dominated by unconventional, yet highly effective decks, which just goes to show that that game still has many surprises and the big theme decks don't always win through
3rd Ian C.

Masters:
1st Michael L. (Machamp) Stormed through undefeated
....with round 4 rematched in the final!
2nd Mark Fraser (Gengar) ... loosing only to Michael... alas twice as fate would have it
So top 2 places go to the Manchetser contingent... great going guys! They also took 3rd place...
3rd James E.
4th Alex G.

Best knock-out bar none...
This has to go to Max G. vs. James H. with a 520 point knock-out from Heatran.
That's right, he'd spent the rest of the game recycling energy and powering it up for the knock-out blow which would end the game.... stunning and hillariously funny to watch... thanks to both Max & James!:thumb:

It was a great tournament Jaedon, thanks. :biggrin: So happy to have won another Cities, especially seeing as I came up against three ghost decks this time round. Awesome prize support too, and I only wish I'd been able to afford to splash out on some of your stuff! I definitely hope to return to Leeds at some point. Thanks to Mark for an amazing couple of games to end the tournament.

Thank you Jaedon ! Too bad it was best of 3, I would have won a match against the champion. Otherwise I will never play machamp and dusknoir in the same deck again. Only one big monster is enough.
