Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Legos VS Gengar

Shen: Mewtwo is too easy to play around. It has to be on the field a turn in order to be a threat, SO I just snipe it with Palkia b4 it hits the field. That, and most people have given up on Mewtwo Lv. X because it just isn't that effective against most SP decks.

Lol, I played against a guy at BR's that said the same thing when I was trying the deck. I know him so I know he's playing Legos already... I mulligan once with Mew2 Lv. X in my hand and he sees it and he goes "That's cute." He's a bit of a know it all, so he goes on about how it's no prob (Almost word for word with the first part of your post IIRC), confident that he could tell me and still get around it. I won, lol.

It's still possible to get Mew2 out. Wait for the opponent to drop 80 on something, and lay down a Mew2. They can't KO it now, next turn promote it and Level Up. This is even more effective early game (When Mew2 SHOULD be coming out). And Mew2 is still common, I saw many at Nats and even read about some in some reports... so anyone with that attitude would lose to a Mew2 tech (I think people actually count on the "Mew2 is dead" attitude).

^ I never said it's impossible to get out Mewtwo, I'm just saying it's never been a problem for me. I've never played one in a tournament, not saying they don't show up. I just don't believe it's that popular, and I don't feel like I should sacrifice consistency for a tech that is easy to deal with in other ways. Plus, with a 1-1 tech line under power lock, you have to get really lucky to draw into it anyway. With a 2-2 line, yeah that's obviously harder to deal with.

Once again, not saying it's impossible for Mewtwo to get on the field, but I am saying it's difficult to do under power lock and I've never personally had problems with it. I'm not ignorant though, if I suspect my opponent is packing Mewtwo, I never end my turn with less than 2 energy on the field.

Lol this is actually funny.

I'm not defining a good player by an opinion, I'm basing it off truth. You don't even know what tourneys I have done well, would u consider me Good??No you wouldn't, but you know what tourneys Ness or Pooka has done well in don't you, Yes you do,so you would consider them good. To be considered good, you have to win.THATS FACT!!! This is how things are, this is nothing new, this isn't my own opinion of a good player, this is the basis of how a "Good" player is measured.

Didn't contradict myself, you just don't want to accept the FACT that what you said, while you have the right to say it, is biased and opinion based when you say " A good player does this this this and this".Like I stated earlier,"ANY" player can do that.

Seriously, you should understand this, its not rocket science or complicated.

its about playing consistent
i can name several players who haven't performed well at large events but are still "good" players... maybe this makes them smart players and not good. it doesn't really matter
on the other hand, if a "bad" player plays a tier 1 deck and makes a textbook play, does that make him good? no, he just made the correct play

i have played the gengar v palkia matchup multiple times and if palkia keeps the lock for the first 3 or 4 turns and snipes any potential queen or claydol, its basically over...
snowpoint also helps tremendously in the match cuz 1 crobat + shadowroom wont know out uxie/mesprit
also, unknown g on palkia lv x is also a smart play but keep a low number of trainers in hand
there a number of different smart plays for the match and from my experience it is about 70/30 palkia if the matchup is rehearsed

^ Not to mention that even the basic Palkia G can do major damage with pearl breath if you keep the trainers out of your hand. With out Queen, Gengar just DIES to Pearl Breath.

(Its like no one read my post...)

Professor Elm is right (about everything in this thread btw) and Darth Pika is right to say that the power lock is the monstrosity that it is. Palkia is nearly an auto-win against Gengar. Palkia stops Gengars offense and destroys its draw (by means of lock and Hydro Shot:pokeball:)
