leveling up and poke-bodies

the level up rule says it "can use any attack, poke-power, or poke-body from its previous level". the word "can" implies that its optional, but usually poke-bodies are mandatory. does that mean its optional to use the poke-body on the pokemon underneath it?

If there is a Poke-Body on the card that was leveled up, and that Body has a mandatory action it will also be mandatory on the LvX.
