Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Life without Claydol?

Not they can't, but they both work together with other cards which are totally superior to the variation you have now.
I mean I like the idea, but a basic deck with s stage two thrown in, or an ampharos deck with some SP side kicks is the only thing I can think of when I see this.

You only gain one turn quicker if your Ampharos FROM whom you moved the energy is KO'ed during your opponent's next turn. Otherwise, you merely TRANSFERRED where the energy was located.

You are right about that. On my next turn I can give my 1 energy a turn back to Amphy and transfer again. Thats his specialty.

before claydo we had castaway/scott turn 1 mentor

before that we had holon engine

before that there was steven's advide :p

claydol is gimp tho in all fairness

That's 8 supporters. You can't consistently have one in your hand every single turn without already using up your turn's supporter to draw into it. Face it, Amphy's attack is bad. Late game there's no way you'll be able to keep the energy flowing.

Sometimes it can happen. I do have Honchcrow G who can attack, and I don't waste energys with him.

That and grabbing energy with those supporters means you aren't getting Bebe to setup Ampharos....

PokeDrawer+ and Active Mareep. Grab Rare Candy and Apmharos. Bam, Amphy is up. No Bebes required.

and people say it is a staple. Ha

The post wasn't directed solely at you (although I do applaud you for actually picking up on the fact that the first sentence was). Just the thoughts that the general population that normally are voiced by you, amphy, supermewtwo as well as others really aren't always right but you guys seem to have the "I'm always right and you're always wrong and there's no way that it can ever be any other way because I'm always right" syndrome and it really just gets old. I once had a desire to help less experienced people, but when they reach the point that you have where they, for the most part, become unwilling to accept that help, what reason do I have to continue to offer this help if it is largely ignored?

I don't always think I am right, but I do stand behind my opinions and strategies. I am always willing to accept help or criticisim and I hope you continue to offer that as all players should.

I couldnt care less what people think about claydol. I dont like the rotation, because if you get a good card or deck you like than you cant use it for long.I dont have tons of money like alot of people do and I cant afford to go and by all the new sets. So half the time i finally get my deck completed and what do you know all my cards are illegal. so whats the point in buying these cards if they are going to be useless in a couple months, its a waste of money. I know you guys will say, oh this keeps the game going and it is fun to make new decks. This is just my opinion. This game should be like other card games where there is a banned list (cards you cant use)and all other cards from diamond and pearl and on can be used. what do you think?

What other card games? Because the only one that does this is yugioh. Magic makes you play with only six sets every year at maximum, and no one is crabby about losing their broken cards every block.

I'm sorry but from what I'm seeing you're simply making excuses for your deck when people are providing you with solid points about why it isn't as good as you're making it out to be. The lack of any powers whatsoever in your list makes it far less consistent. Your "ideal" Honchkrow/call start brings up the fact that you have to invest two energy onto your Krow or it just becomes close to deadweight for a few turns at which point you will more often than you think be faced with a T1 Kingdra doing 60 to your Krow and 20 to your Mareep/some other bench target followed by a warp/repeat of the same same thing giving them an easy lead on you and leaving you down a Pokemon for fulfilling your Power Spray cost or forcing you to burn another supporter to reinforce this temporary barrier. Now obviously this only applies to Kingdra whereas other decks, like Gigas, will simply smash you T1/2 without any tricks/gimmicks. Amphy suffers from the same thing it always has. It is slow.

You are right, but does'nt Energy Gain provide extra energy? I will take your advice in consideration and change my deck accordingly.

Wow... I LOVE how you guys sit here and argue with everyone else who makes very similar points to those I'm making, and you guys fought them tooth and nail until I came on here and restated them with slightly different wording and more drawn out examples. Do I have some different tone associated with me? Is it my word choice? Or are you all simply biased against lol and Sparta based on their other posts?

No I am not Biased against them its just that the way they say stuff sometimes hurts a little.

My bad... I did'nt know that about Energy Gain. Thanks.

Amphy, you're getting trash back from the more experienced players because you've already made the assumption that every deck you make wins all its games, makes passing girls swoon, drives your car, aces on your exams, and does windows. Then after someone comes up with a valid point, you simply say "I'll just beat you," even though you probably won't because the bottom tables don't run draw powers. You're like a bad political pundit with a mute button. You aren't going to have a power spray every turn, you're not going to start with honchkrow and call energy every game, you aren't drawing a dark energy to attack with said honchkrow every game with your current build, and if you're burning cyrus/roseanne to get energy, you aren't drawing fresh attackers to keep up with your opponents build. It's been the death of every power lock deck to come out since we we've been reliant on powers to set up, can you set up faster than your opponent when you've stopped them from using powers?

Can anyone actually remember the original topic of this thread? Isn't it supposed to be about how we'll be playing if/when Claydol cycles out?

However a bit of moderation in a person's posts before they hit the submit button is sometimes in order. There's no excuse for outright ridicule. In the 2 attempts shown in this thread a poster got himself 25 infraction points. Please keep that in mind.

Actually we've always had some card(s) that was a search engine... pidgeot, holon engine, metagross, castaway, scott, even ferret and gardy for a little while.

so when we lose claydol you'll see more Uxie, more Cyrus. with all the non supporter search we have great, luxury, qucik, dusk premiere we'll be fine
