Hey, not sure if this question is in the right place??

But anyways I'm 24 and keen in the idea of playing again. Which I haven't done for about 2 / 3 years really  how time flies......I'm from Wolverhampton (UK) and have recently found out that there is a league of kinds in Birmigham at a store called "Oasis" and was wondering if anybody could give me some info about it?

Player base, age groups, times etc.

Cheers!!

your best bet is to contact the shop.

There is also a league in Sutton Coldfield and a new one starting in Solihull. Going further South there is a league in Redditch too.

I'd always advise calling ahead to avoid a possibly wasted journey.

Hi I'm living in Wolves as well, just turned 25, moved from Canada about a year ago and having trouble finding anyone who shares my interests :/ (Pokemon TCG, Starcraft 2, and recently trying to get into Magic as well.) I have a lot of older cards but haven't bought any from B&W onward, mostly playing PTCGO at the moment. If you want to talk about Pokemon with potential for meeting up for some casual games, let me know. Also if you find any closeby 18+ groups I'd be interested, I had heard about Oasis but it isn't coming up in the league/event search results at all.

I contacted the one in Sutton Coldfield about going to a Next Destinies prerelease but they said the age group there is 10-17 so I gave it a pass.

Hey fella,

yea I know what u mean about Sutton Coldfield I had the same reply. I've sent a few other e mails around and a few replies from Oasis and another event starting up in Solihull.

I help out at the Sutton Coldfield league and yes, league meetings are mostly attended by under 17s. However , don't let that put you off, we have some players in the Senior ranks who are very capable players.

Feel free to come along anytime, we're a friendly bunch.

We hosted the Birmingham City Championships in January and had around 20 Masters play, some local but many travelled in. We have a Battleroads coming up at the end of May and hopefully a pre-release before then.

Attending local league meetings at least once per season should earn you 1 Play Point for each season and playing in any of our tournaments will also earn you Play Points. So if you live in the West Mids and want to go to the TCG UK Nationals, our league could help you get that all important points tally.

Our next meeting is this coming Saturday. I believe the league run from the Oasis shop in Brum has closed. The Shirley Solihull Pokemon league meets for the first time this Saturday. Don't know the ages of likely attendees but I'm sure the organiser would be glad to see any Masters attend, especially if they'd be willing to help teach any new Juniors who may turn up.

Late response but yeah, hey, I actaully live about a minutes walk from that Oasis league in birmingham. It used to have quite a lot of players when it first started out but I went once or twice towards the end of last year but there was only ever one other player tops. Haven't been recently so can't say for sure anymore but central birmingham doesn't exactly have an active player base.
