Okay, so I'm kind of disappointed that there's not a lot of metal-type Lucario. (Just Platinum's version.) So, I'm new to deck building, and I'm trying to build a good deck around Do the Wave Lucario (which just so happens to be in Unlimited format). Any comments are appreciated! :thumb:

4-4 Lucario (Platinum)
3-1-2 Magnezone (Stormfront - Super Connectivity version)
2 Uxie
1 Azelf
1 Crobat G
1 Lapras (Legend Maker)
1 Mesprit
1 Zangoose (Platinum)

21

4 Computer Search
3 Item Finder
3 Professor Oak
3 Scoop Up
2 Super Energy Removal
1 Gust of Wind
1 Luxury Ball
1 PlusPower
1 Pokemon Breeder
1 Pokemon Rescue
1 Warp Point

1 Broken Time-Space

3 Steven's Advice
2 Pokemon Collector
1 Twins

28

4 Special Metal
4 Basic Metal
2 Call Energy
1 Rescue Energy

11

Strategy is to set up Magnezone, and get a Metal Energy in the discard (by discarding it with Computer Search or Item Finder preferably), so that it only takes 1 turn to set up a Lucario. Then proceed to use Lucario sort of like... Jumpluff I guess.

With all the Unlimited support, I don't think this deck needs a starter pokemon, though feel free to suggest one.

Scoop Up is there to abuse my Uxies, Azelf, Crobat G, Lapras, and Mesprit, but can also avoid a Knock Out if need be. Zangoose is there to pull up a bench-sitter like Vileplume to active, and stall, or slowly K.O., though there's probably a better card for that (I just like Zangoose). I think my main problem is with Trainer Lock, and I really don't have any experience with Unlimited at all (I just threw this deck together real quick), so feel free to suggest stuff.

Above all, this is just a for-fun deck, so I'm not trying to make it donk or anything, so keep that in mind when suggesting stuff. Thanks for viewing!

Hi. I've liked Lucario Do the Wave when it was in modified, so I'll help you ;)
The best way to use it is with Level X. Lucario doesn't have a lot of HP, so Level X's power is essential.
Take out Magnezone, it's useless here. 2 energies are not too much with the help of Level X.
Add 1 Uxie (and if you can, also the Level X) and 3 Mesprit (very strong if you play SSU).
Add 3 Gust of wind and the fourth SSU. Try also with 4 Call Energy (good if you don't start with Riolu or to search immediately 2 basic even if Pixies don't activate effects).
Bye

First, thanks for the comment. :)

Second, agree with most of what you said here, though I'm confused as to why Magnezone is completely useless. I use it for energy acceleration, otherwise, it takes two turns to acquire enough energy on 1 Lucario for Do the Wave, and usually Lucario is Knocked Out in the meantime. (I like to set up a Lucario each turn, so that it doesn't slow me down too much if a Lucario gets Knocked Out each turn.) Using Level X is a brilliant idea. I would hate to have to waste the Level X's power just to stall while I attach two energy which could've been attached faster, though I get that Magnezone can be difficult, and a pain versus a Gust of Wind. I'll think on it.

A 4th Scoop Up sounds good, and thinking about it, I probably should add in about 2 Mr. Briney's Compassion, to re-use the Level X's power. Can also search that with Lapras too. I feel that 4 Mesprit is overkill, but I could test 2 or 3. 4 Gust of Wind... I usually just search for it when needed, but I could go 2 or 3. I keep a low count on everything so I have a variety of options at all times. And 4 Call Energy sounds great.

I'll consider what I want to drop for the changes, and thanks for the help! :thumb:

The starters I suggest for any deck are either Ditto (Fossil), Spiritimb (Arceus), or Sableye (Stormfront).
For trainer lock, I'd suggest Magby (Neo Genesis) and Cessation Crystal, since you're playing pokemon that rely on pokemon powers, Muk wouldn't be as good.
