LuxApe for BR's - HELP!

I am not just going from the national champions list. I am going from extensive testing with skilled players. And where did LuxApe show at worlds at all?
It didn't do as well at worlds as it was expected.
Dialga G brings in a 3rd type that is not necessary for a deck, especially when there is an alternate that stays on type and provides more help in multiple matchups.
And who are YOU to slam a player for expressing his opinion?

I made top 16 at worlds as well as top 64 at nationals with my list. In a tournament, I have never lost to flygon varients, gengar, nor the mirror.

I play no claydol, no ninetails, no toxicroak.

I do play dialga, pachirisu, uxie x, and lucario.

Dialga is very very good. I have no idea what you see is so wrong with it. It provides your mewtwo counter without having to play bebe's to pull out ninetails. In fact most players will not even attempt to set a mewtwo up as soon as they see a basic dialga hit the field. Against nearly the entire format, it provides a great staller. I do not consider a dialga a bad start. All you need is a cyrus to go with it and you shut down your opponent turn 1. Its not that hard to slide in a single basic metal. Also, if turn 2, your opponent has one basic, you can easiky donk them. It doesn't really offer another type considering it's primary purpose isn't attacking. It's to shut down bodies which include Mewtwo's, Flygon's, Machamp X's, and Nidoqueen. Your argument for offering another type really is mute considering people play Uxie, Claydol, Ninetails, and Bronzong. Dialga is also not hard to get out of the active position. All it takes is a warp point or an attachment and a Galactic switch.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Flygon is taken care of with a split bomb on the trapinches which puts you within killing range with infernape. You slow down their oppertunity to get the level X out fast by killing claydol early.

I just Poke' Turn it if I have to slap the Energy Gain on somethin else. =|
Most of the time I just stall with it to get big set ups while they work on trying to kill it.

But sadly enough, all I've had to test against today was Beedrill, and going second against Speedrill with a Dialga G start with Cyrus in hand means the game's already over. =|

I agree with Dragonitegirl07... u dont need ninetales, claydols and the promo toxicroak or toxiG w stadiums, i played the luxape many many times, and the real type of the deck is fire, lightning, metal and psychic (except lucario xD but uses metal energy xD) dialga oddly is a good starter, cause in this deck is SP so the engine to attk is quick, i suggest remove the crobat G, and add pluspowers and warp points, the deck MUST attk every turn no matter if the poke is ko
the deck has no counters so, u could build a full attk luxape...
...and this season there are new mechanics, so if u want to build a better luxape u must study all new strategy and make a way to kill before the opponent has response

I believe that both Dialga and Ninetails have their perks, but like what was already stated, it's up to you and your metagame to decide. Though I suppose if Flygon was big, a Ditto could solve that problem.

I thought this quote by Pidgeotto Trainer from his World's report was very good:

"My deck was just beaten twice despite good hands. Those decks were just able to beat it, they were ready for it."

He lost his 1st 2 matches not because of his play or bad luck, but because his opponent knew what they were facing, had tested against it with their deck and knew how to beat it.

This goes back to my argument about not always following what "accepted convention" says to play in a deck. Surprise factor will often win you games, especially if they THINK they know how your deck is put together.

Just food for thought

Alot of the suggestions merit thought, but ultimately you must play a list that suits your play style and match up to the meta your in. If there is alot of mewtwo then dialga is a serious consideration. If there is alot of mirror then toxicroak promo/sunnyshore is a good play as is uxie lvx(to counter the toxicroak). Kingdra/Beedril - then look at Lucario. I played the deck at Nats and in the Grinder and managed to go 21-5, and I played NO claydol and 4 plus powers(no one expected them and they honestly won me 60% of my matches). Don't feel you need to play the latest teched out list because someone else used them.... there are so many variables... playtest and then make changes.... Pooka used Ray at Nats, but dropped it for worlds.... your list should be evolving every tourney...

Basic aggro list with no mewtwo counter - if played correctly will put you in position to win most matchups save Machamp varients.....
