LuxApe vs. BlazeRay vs. LuxChomp?

I'm putting together a new deck, but I'm unsure which combo I'd like to go for. My question is, for those who have experience with any of these decks, which do you feel is better, stronger and generally wins the most matchups?

I'm trying to get a feel of what I'm in for prior to me jumping in and trading a ton in order to make one of these decks.

I'm personally leaning towards LuxApe, but I saw lots of people playing BlazeRay in Cities, and everyone who played this combo placed high in rankings, so I'm kind of nervous about putting together LuxApe. I still haven't personally seen a LuxChomp deck played yet. Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Luxape was great in its meta, but the meta's since shifted, and speed is the name of the game, although intimidating roar is incredibly useful these days.

Yeah, I kind of figured Luxape was a pretty old combo, which is probably why people run Blazeray.

As an inexperienced player just making an opinion based off of observation, I really don't understand how Blazeray would be better/more popular than Luxape. Blaziken's "big attack" makes him take an extra 40 damage. Plus, Blaziken's Alluring Flame is decent, but a Switch, Warp Point, Unown G, retreat, level up, evolution, etc. kills it. Am I missing something about this deck?

On the Lv.X: The point is that the attack is cheap. 80 for 1? Yes please...

On the Basic SP: Its second attack is pretty rubbish, but the point of Luring Flame is even if they do manage to Switch/Warp Point/Evolve etc. (trust me, you don't normally drag up a pokemon that can Level Up and you're normally dragging up a Claydol anyway), you're making them waste a switch/warp point getting out of the lock. Even though it's an attack and Luxray GL's is a PokePower, dragging up a basic they don't want active at the beginning of the game or dragging up their Claydol and putting them in a lock is hugely beneficial.

That pretty much puts it in to perspective. I guess I just didn't understand the strategy. Blazeray is looking pretty good at the moment. =P

I have played all the different combos, currently running Luxray/Blaziken/Garchomp atm, if you're curious about lists, check the links in my sig. Hope they're helpful.

I would play LuxChomp. The thing is that you're going to last more longer than BlazeRay 'cause of Garchomp Xs healing (if you're not ohko'd), are more able to snipe bench (especially Claydol) and you can more easily tech against metagame. Garchomp needs only C energy and I'm sure you can find Electrics for Luxray pretty easily.
The best option varies by many things. Which you're most confident with and mostly of metagame in your area. Luxchomp is the best option in my opinion if people in your area are playing Salamence and Flygon.

Thanks for the links. I see what I have to aim for when building these decks. I have almost everything I needed for a Luxape deck, but I think I can easily transition that in to Blazeray. I'll go ahead and try that and see how comfortable I am with it. Thanks everyone for the replies. =D

Thanks for all the replies.

Another question just hit me: these decks are pretty much the same, and have almost the same strategy, but what sets them apart besides the main attacker? Even then, Garchomp C, Blaziken FB and Infernape 4 pretty much hit in the same range for almost the same amount of energy (with Energy Gain attached).

Is there a certain card that is a "must have" in one deck but useless in another deck? I'm just wondering, besides the main attacker, what's the real difference between the decks?

Also, are Uxie Lv. X's, Ninetails and Promocroak's essential in these decks?

Sorry for all the questions. =P

Also, since I was PM'ed about it, I did post this on another forum so I could get different opinions from different players who play in different areas and thus are faced with different problems when playing these decks. I hope no one minds.

A Uxie Lv. X is nice, but you can also do Claydol. I've personally mainly done just Uxies, but it's all down to playstyle, and I'll concede that playing a Uxie X or Claydol is probably the smarter play.

I'd run a 1-1 Dialga G Lv. X line over Ninetails these days, considering you've not only got Mewtwo, but Spiritomb, Nidoqueen, etc., etc. to counter. Dialga G, in my mind, is definitely the better play.

Toxicroak G isn't essential, but it can be nice to have.

Ah, indeed, great point. If there's lots of Machamp in your meta, then a Uxie X becomes much more valuable.
